# Conditional objects in the Image Editor

### What's new?

You can now use conditional objects in the Image Editor to automate your design process.

Conditional objects are like "mini-rules" for your images, allowing you to show or hide specific objects like badges, logos, or price tags based on your product data.

{% hint style="info" %}

#### Example use case: Show a Sale badge

Imagine you have 100 products but only 50 of them are currently on sale with a 20% discount. You want to highlight these sale products by adding a "Sale" badge to their images.

* **Before conditional objects:** You would have to build two separate templates: one with the badge and one without. Then you would need to manually set up image rules to assign those templates to the correct products. This is time-consuming and leaves you open to mapping errors.
* **With conditional objects:** You can add the badge to a single template. Then you add a condition so that the badge appears only if a product’s status is `On_Sale`.
  {% endhint %}

* **Logic-based layers**: Set "IF/THEN" conditions directly on individual objects in your product image designs. For example, you can set a "Free Shipping" icon to appear only if your shipping cost is 0.
* **Automatic visibility**: Choose to show objects only under specific conditions or hide them when they are no longer relevant (e.g. removing a "New arrival" badge after 30 days).
* **Scalability**: Manage thousands of products using one master design. Whether you have 100 items or 100,000, your images update automatically based on your feed.
* **Fewer templates required:** You can create one template for all products and use the conditional objects to have different versions of the template show based on the conditions set.
* **Time-saving:** No need for duplicate templates. By using logic-based objects you reduce the time spent on manual design and rule creation.
* **Better ad quality:** You can deliver a personalized ad experience: show specific brand logos, "Low Stock" warnings, or "New Arrival" banners only when they are relevant, ensuring your ads are always accurate and high-converting.
* **Fewer errors:** Eliminating the need for multiple templates means fewer errors. Your product data drives the design, ensuring the right information reaches the right customer.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://helpcenter.channable.com/changelog/2026/july/conditional-objects-in-the-image-editor.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
