# How to use Products AI

This article explains how to optimize product titles and descriptions with[ Products AI](https://sites.gitbook.com/preview/site_Qvoaf/css/~/revisions/aS2KdNSFOTfcFUfjBeg5/products-ai) and sync the approved results to Google Merchant Center.

***

### <i class="fa-memo-circle-check">:memo-circle-check:</i> Before you start

**You’ll need**

* CSS Pro
* A[ supplemental source](https://sites.gitbook.com/preview/site_Qvoaf/css/~/revisions/aS2KdNSFOTfcFUfjBeg5/readme/set-up-the-supplemental-source-for-your-merchant-in-google-merchant-center) set up

**Good to know**

* You can optimize up to 200 products at a time
* Products AI works best when you filter products into clear groups first
* You need to approve optimized products before they are added to the supplemental source

***

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open Products AI

1. In Channable, go to **\[your company] > CSS Merchants**.
2. Select the merchant you want to use Products AI for.
3. Open **Products AI**.
4. Review and accept the terms and conditions.
5. Click **Start**.
   {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Filter and select products

You’ll see an overview of your products, including their attributes and labels.

1. Select your items.

To select all products, click the checkbox next to Image ID in the table header.

To select specific products, click the checkboxes of the products you specifcially want to optimize.

* To filter your products by things like performance, click <i class="fa-filter">:filter:</i> and select the filter you want to apply:

  * **Title status:** Great, Average, Poor, Too long
  * **State:** Optimized (AI), Optimized with errors, Not optimized, Edited, Not edited
  * **Brand**
  * **In feed status:** Approved, Unapproved
  * **Product type**
  * **Google Product category**
  * **Custom Label(s)**
  * **Labelizer labels:** Heroes, Villains, Sidekicks, Zombies, 0 Zombies

  Click **Apply**, and the table will update with products that match your filter(s).

2. Click **Optimize**.

{% hint style="success" %}

#### Start with product groups where better attributes can have the biggest impact.

**Good examples:**

* Heroes + Poor title — improve relevance for your best-performing products
* Zombies + not edited — help low-visibility products gain more impressions
* Seasonal categories — add seasonal context during peak periods
  {% endhint %}
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Configure your prompt

After you click Optimize, a **Optimize with AI** will appear at the top of the page.

1. For **Title template**, choose the title structure you want to use.
2. At **AI Creativity**, choose how strictly the model should follow your instructions:
   1. **Low** keeps the output closer to your prompt
   2. **High** gives the model more room to vary the result
3. For **Description optimization**, disable this if you'd only like ProductsAI to optimize the title and ignore the description.
4. For **Use images for optimization**, enable to extract image data from your products.
5. In **Customize prompt**, enter any extra instructions for the AI model.

If you leave the custom prompt blank, Products AI will optimize the content based on Google Shopping best practices.

{% hint style="info" %}

#### Write prompts as clearly as possible

**Prompt examples:**

* Only append to title
* Add seasonal keywords to the title
* Use informal style in the description
* Add the brand name to the end of the title
* Replace redundant keywords in the title with product attributes
  {% endhint %}

{% hint style="success" %}
For best results, be specific, use line breaks to separate instructions, and add limits where needed (e.g. max 150 characters)
{% endhint %}

6. Click **Run optimization**.
   {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Sync the supplemental source to Google Merchant Center

Once you approve the changes, you can send the updated data to Google Merchant Center.

1. Click **Copy supplemental source**.
2. Add that URL as a supplemental source in Google Merchant Center.

Follow this guide to set up a supplemental source.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you migrated from Producthero, note that Products AI uses a **separate supplemental source**. It's not merged with the source used for Labelizer, Title Optimizer, or Price Benchmark data.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Review and adjust optimizations

After the optimization runs, Products AI shows the updated values in the overview.

Each product has a color-coded status:

* **Green:** Optimized without errors.
* **Red:** Optimized, but an error occurred.
* **Grey:** Not optimized.

Open a product row to compare the optimized title and description (if optimized) with the previous version below it.

To adjust an updated value, click its title or description. Edit the text, then click **Save**.

To restore the original title or description, click **Revert to this version**.

#### Revert optimized changes

Revert optimizations individually or in bulk:

* To revert one optimization, click on the product to expand it, then click **Revert to this version**.
* To revert specific optimizations, select them using the checkboxes. Click the dropdown next to **Optimize**, then select **Revert**.
* To revert all optimizations, select the table header checkbox. Click the dropdown next to **Optimize**, then select **Revert**.

**Revert options:**

**Revert attribute:** Select this to revert one optimized attribute across all products.

**Revert single attribute:** Select to revert one attribute for one product.

{% hint style="info" %}
Use an attribute revert when an attribute supports your campaign structure. For example, reverting **Product type** ensures campaigns built around product types stay safe.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Approve optimizations to add to your supplemental source

Once you're happy with your optimized attributes, approve them to add them to your supplemental source. They remain there until you revert them.

Approve products individually or in bulk:

* To approve one product, turn on its **In feed** toggle.
* To approve specific products, select them using the checkboxes. Click the dropdown next to **Optimize**, then select **Approve**.
* To approve all visible products, select the table header checkbox. Click the dropdown next to **Optimize**, then select **Approve**.
  {% endstep %}
  {% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://helpcenter.channable.com/css/productsai/how-to-use-products-ai.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
