# Migration guide for Producthero agencies new to Channable

Use this guide to access your migrated setup in Channable and organize each customer correctly.

***

### <i class="fa-memo-circle-check">:memo-circle-check:</i> Before you start

**You'll need**

* Access to Channable’s [Agency Partner Program](https://www.channable.com/partner-program) (required to organize client accounts)
* The email address used to accept the terms and conditions.
  * If nobody accepted them manually, use the main billing user email.

**Good to know**

* By default, all CSS merchants from your paid Producthero subscription move into one temporary Channable company during migration.

### Access your company and review migrated merchants

1. Log in to your Channable account with the same email address used to accept the terms and conditions.
   1. If you did not accept them manually, sign in with your main billing user email.
2. Open the company shown in your account.
3. Go to **CSS Merchants > Merchant management**.

Your client's merchant accounts should be listed here and ready to manage.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you don't see any merchants, check that you signed into a Google account with the right access.
{% endhint %}

### Organize your merchants <mark style="color:$primary;">(Agency Partner Program required)</mark>

By default, merchants linked to your agency Google account stay in the auto-generated Channable company for your agency.

If you want separate billing, access, and ownership, the next step is to split each client into their own company and manage them through an **Agency Dashboard**.

To do this, contact us at <agency@channable.com> and request to join our [Agency Partner Program](https://www.channable.com/partner-program).

We’ll notify you within 2 business days after your request.

<summary>Why use an Agency Dashboard</summary>

<table><thead><tr><th valign="top">For your agency</th><th valign="top">For your clients</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td valign="top"><ul><li>Manage client companies from one place in your <strong>Agency Dashboard</strong>.</li><li>Keep billing, ownership, and partner tracking separate per client.</li><li>Avoid mixing multiple advertisers in one company.</li></ul></td><td valign="top"><ul><li>Clear ownership of their own account.</li><li>Direct control over billing and access.</li></ul></td></tr></tbody></table>

</details>

Follow the scenario that matches your client's setup:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Create and/or connect to client accounts

<details>

<summary>My client is part of my Producthero subscription</summary>

If your client was part of your subscription, you need to create a separate company for them.

**Create a separate company for your client**

1. Go to your **Agency Dashboard**.
2. Click **Create new company**.
3. Enter your client’s details.
4. Select **Is migrating from Producthero**.
5. Complete the required fields.
6. In the new client company, go to **Company settings** > **Manage access** > **Invite user**.
7. Enter your client’s email and assign the **Owner** role.
8. Click **Invite user**.
9. Ask your client to accept the invitation and [fill in payment details](https://helpcenter.channable.com/account-billing/manage-your-subscription/billing-and-payment#manage-your-payment-methods).
10. Repeat these steps for each client part of your subscription.

</details>

<details>

<summary>My client had their own Producthero subscription</summary>

If your client had their own Producthero subscription, we already migrated them to their own separate Channable company.

1. Open your agency company in your Channable account.
2. Go to **Agency Dashboard**.

**If your client's company appears in your Agency Dashboard:**

You already have access and can manage the client in Channable.

**If your client's company does not appear in your Agency Dashboard**

You do not have access yet.

1. Follow the steps to [create a request for access link](https://helpcenter.channable.com/get-started/getting-started-agencies/agency-dashboard/request-access-to-existing-companies).
2. Send the link to the client.
3. Ask the client to open the link, select the company to share, and click **Grant access**.

Once access is granted, the company appears automatically in your Agency Dashboard.

</details>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Add your Google connection to your client companies

<details>

<summary>I use the same Google account to manage multiple merchant accounts</summary>

If you manage multiple clients from the same Google account, you can duplicate your connection to add it to your client companies in bulk.

1. In your agency company, go to **CSS Merchants** > **CSS Connections**.
2. Click **Sign in to Google** and log in with the Google account with access to your client account(s).
3. In the row for the user with access to the client account(s), click <i class="fa-gear-complex">:gear-complex:</i> > **Duplicate connection**.
4. For **Duplicate to**, select the client company or companies.
5. Click **Duplicate**.

This copies the required Google connection into the selected client companies.

</details>

<details>

<summary>I use several Google accounts to manage merchants</summary>

If you manage your clients from different accounts, it’s best to manually add your connection to each client company.

1. Go to **Agency Dashboard > \[your client’s company]**.
2. Go to **CSS Merchants > CSS Connections**.
3. Click **Sign in to Google** and select the Google account with access to your client’s account. This will add it to their CSS connection overview.

</details>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Move your merchants to their own companies

{% hint style="warning" %}
Your client **must confirm** [**payment details**](/account-billing/manage-your-subscription/billing-and-payment.md) in their new Channable company before you can move the merchant into it.
{% endhint %}

1. Return to the **Merchant management** tab.
2. In the row for the merchant you want to move, click <i class="fa-gear-complex">:gear-complex:</i> > **Move to another company**.
3. Select the target company and click **Move merchant**.
4. Repeat these steps for each client company.
   {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Review your agency setup

1. Go to **Agency Dashboard**.
2. Confirm the client company appears in the list.
3. In the list, select the client company and go to **CSS Merchants** > **Merchant management**.
4. Confirm the correct Merchant Center accounts appear under your client.
   {% endstep %}
   {% endstepper %}

### FAQs

<details>

<summary>Why did some customers end up in different Channable accounts?</summary>

The destination account depends on the client’s setup before migration:

* If your client was billed through your agency subscription, they were added to your Channable agency company.
* If your client had their own Producthero subscription, they were either moved to an existing company (if they had an existing Channable account with a 1:1 match), or a new company was created for them.

[Follow these steps](#organize-your-merchants-agency-partner-program-required) if you want to manage these accounts from one account.

</details>

<details>

<summary>I can't log into my migrated Channable account</summary>

If you can't access your Channable account, [reset your password](https://app.channable.com/reset/request).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why can’t I see a migrated client in my CSS merchant overview?</summary>

All CSS merchant accounts and sub-accounts associated with your Merchant Center account should have been migrated. You can find them in the **Merchant management** tab.

If a client is missing, check that you signed in with the correct Google account and that this account has access to the company.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why can’t I see a migrated customer in my Agency Dashboard?</summary>

If you can’t see a client in your Agency Dashboard, you likely don’t have access to their company yet.

This usually means one of the following:

* You haven’t sent the [request link](/get-started/getting-started-agencies/agency-dashboard/request-access-to-existing-companies.md) to your client
* Your client hasn’t granted you access via the request link

After the client grants access, the company appears automatically in your Agency Dashboard.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why can’t I move my merchants?</summary>

Moving a merchant requires the same Google connection in both your main agency company and the client company.

If the connection is missing, first check that the company involved has provided a [payment method](/account-billing/manage-your-subscription/billing-and-payment.md).

If they have, then either:

* [Duplicate your Google connection to the client company](#i-use-the-same-google-account-to-manage-multiple-merchant-accounts).
* Open the client company in Channable and [add the connection there manually](#i-use-several-google-accounts-to-manage-merchants).

Once the same connection exists in both companies, follow the steps under [**Move your merchants to their own companies**](#move-your-merchants-to-their-own-companies).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why should I create a separate company per client?</summary>

Separate companies keep ownership, billing, and user access clear.

They also let you manage clients through your **Agency Dashboard** without mixing multiple advertisers in one account.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://helpcenter.channable.com/css/readme/migrate-from-producthero-to-channable/migration-guide-for-producthero-agencies-new-to-channable.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
