With our dynamic image editor, you can combine data and image optimization for impactful ads. Effortlessly generate optimized and hyper-relevant, product ads for social multichannel campaigns, directly from your feed, at scale.
1 How to use the Image Editor
With our image editor you can create optimized ad creatives. You do this by adding additional images, text or other content to your product images. This will help you to make highly relevant product ads. These ads will attract more attention from customers, leading to a higher conversion rate.
With Channable this is done dynamically. You create a template once, and by connecting project fields you can apply this template to all your products.
Some examples on how to optimize your product images with our image editor are:
- Add a logo and other visual elements for improved brand visibility
- Include multiple images of a product to showcase your product
- Add text such as sale price or title to increase relevance
Example images created by the Image Editor:
There are two main components of the Channable tool which you will utilize to enhance your image data. This first component is the Image Editor itself, which is used to edit templates that can be applied to product images. The second component, are the Image Rules, which are used to apply these created templates to items, and also serves as the entry-point for the Image Editor.
2 Image Rules
The Image Rules section of our tool works much like our other types of Rules, and will be accessed in the same tab of an export channel as normal Rules and/or Repricer Rules. Here, you will be able to do the following:
- Filter items to be included in a rule using the IF-part of the rule.
- Apply templates to included items using the THEN-part of the rule.
- Store the URL to the edited image in a specified image-field of the item.
- Access the Image Editor to edit your templates, or create new templates.
2.1 Application of Image Rules
Note that Image Rules work differently from our normal rules. An item can only be edited by one rule. This will be the first rule in which the item appears. Following rules that would select the same item will skip this item.
The output of an Image Rule is a URL to the edited image, and is stored in the specified result field of the rule. So, applying a template means that each item that is selected by the rule will be used as input for the specified template. Any dynamic data in the template will be filled using the fields of the item, and a new image will be generated. This image will have the PNG-format, and is stored by Channable.
2.2 Templates
Templates are the objects that you can edit/create with the Image Editor, and are applied to items using the Image Rules. Broadly speaking, you can see templates as instructions for how images are to be edited.
3 Image Editor
So far, we've learned that edited images are generated using Image Rules, which require items and templates as input. The Image Editor itself can be used to create new templates by creating an image rule and choose '+New template' in the 'Select a template'-dropdown menu:
The Image Editor can also be used to edit existing templates, by selecting a specific existing template in the THEN-part of the rule (step 1) followed by clicking on 'Image editor' (step 2):
The created templates by the Image Editor can be used throughout your entire company. This way you can create a template for a specific export feed and then reuse these templates for other channels across your company. As mentioned before, these templates can only be accessed through the Image Rules in feeds.
