There are two types of targeting for a bol. Ads campaign. We will discuss both below.
Automatic campaign
In an automatic campaign, bol handles the process of selecting keywords, bidding in auctions, and placing ads according to your advertising goals and ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sales). The Bol Ads ecosystem strives to find the best targets for your ads, including relevant keywords, categories, and products. Since Bol optimizes these positive targets for you, your role is limited to setting negative targets.
- Key benefits: The system saves times by automatically optimizing keyword selection, bidding, and ad placement. Limitations: There is less control over specific details, such as which keywords to target and how to bid, compared to manual campaigns.
- Limitations: There is less control over specific details, such as which keywords to target or how to bid, in comparison to manual campaigns.
This type of campaign is ideal for beginners or those running their first campaigns, as it requires minimal management. The insights gained from automatic campaigns can later be used to fine-tune manual campaigns.
Manual campaign
With a manual campaign, you have full control over your ads. You are responsible for selecting keywords, setting bids, and deciding where your ads appear. This gives you the ability to create a more customized and strategic approach that aligns with your specific business objectives. However, manual campaigns require more time and attention, as continuous monitoring and optimization are necessary for success.
- Key benefits: Full control over keywords, bidding strategies, and targeting, allowing for a highly tailored campaign.
- Limitations: Requires significantly more time and attention to monitor performance, adjust bids, and manage keywords.
In manual targeting campaigns, you manage both positive targets (keywords you want to target) and negative targets (keywords to exclude). Each Ad Group can focus on only one type of entity (keyword).
Keyword targeting
Keywords are targets that are matched against the search terms used by the end user in the search bar of bol. Positive targets are utilized to display your ads when the target matches the search term, while negative targets serve the opposite purpose, preventing your ads from being shown when the target matches the search term.
