In this article, we answer frequently asked questions about Profit on Ad Spend. For more detailed information on what Profit on Ad Spend is, refer to this article. To learn how to set up Profit on Ad Spend, see this article.
Can I use a custom field as a cost field?
No, it's not currently possible to use a custom field (such as a project field) as a cost field. Insights data is retrieved before any rules (including import rules) are applied. This means the necessary values need to be present in the import itself for Insights to use them. We are actively developing this feature to make it available in the future.
Is Profit on Ad Spend available on Insights dashboards for Amazon Ads or CPS dashboards?
Currently, Profit on Ad Spend is only available on Google Ads dashboards. If you are interested in having this feature for other channels, please reach out to our support team, and we will consider it for a future update.
Can I send Profit on Ad Spend and profit metrics to Google Ads to use them as a target metric there?
No, it is not possible yet. At the moment, you can only use these metrics within Channable.
However, you can create custom labels in Channable that can be sent to Google Ads and considered there. If you’re interested in sending Profit on Ad Spend metrics directly to Google Ads, contact our support team, and we can explore this for a future update.
Can I choose different Profit on Ad Spend cost fields for specific Insights dashboards?
No, the Profit on Ad Spend (POAS) cost fields are selected on the project level.
Why do the number of items in the header of the dashboard and in the Profit on Ad Spend section differ?
This occurs when some products don’t have valid values in the Profit on Ad Spend (POAS) cost field(s).
Why don’t I see Profit on Ad Spend metrics for my Segmentation section?
This indicates that some segmented products don’t have valid values in the Profit on Ad Spend (POAS) cost field(s).
Why do I see a "Negative data" error on the Profit pie chart?
This error appears when one or more segments have a negative profit value (e.g., -100 EUR). In this situation, it's not possible to display the data accurately in the pie chart.
Why are fewer products segmented after selecting Profit on Ad Spend as a threshold metric for Segmentation?
When Profit on Ad Spend is used as a threshold metric for Segmentation, products with non-numeric values in any of the cost fields are filtered out.
