Set the category field

Before you can use Smart Categorization, you need to select a 'Category Field' in your project. This is the specific field in your data import that contains your product categories. The Category field is a project-wide field, so if you modify this field, the smart categorization algorithm will re-run for all channels that have smart categorization enabled.

So, select one category field that can be applied to all channels rather than using different category fields per channel. Follow these steps to set your project category field: 

1. Go to [Your Google Shopping feed] > Categories.
2. Click on Set Category field. Alternatively, you can go to Settings in your project.
3. At Category field, select the field containing the value for your categories (e.g. product_category). Channable will automatically suggest the most fitting Google Shopping categories based on your selected field. 
4. Save your settings to run the Smart Categorization.
