Step 1 - Add a new connection
To create a new Marktplaats connection, go to [your name top right corner] > Connections > Add connection. Click on "+ Add a new connection" and you will see this screen, where you can select Markplaats and then 'Create'. You will then be taken to a screen where you can select 'Connect with Marktplaats':
Step 2 - Accept the connection with Admarkt
You will be redirected to Marktplaats, where you need to log in or continue if you are already logged in. Make sure you are logged into your Admarkt account, not your personal Marktplaats account!
Log into Admarkt and accept the connection with Channable. After this, you will be redirected back to Channable and you can finish creating the connection with Marktplaats Admarkt.
Step 3 - Create a new API
To create a new API connection, navigate to your project and click on the API panel on the left-hand side of the screen. After you have done that, click 'Add new API'. You will then be able to assign the connection you created earlier to this API.
Step 4 - Setup the marketplace
After creating a new connection and Marktplaats API, you can start setting up the API in Channable.
The next step is to choose a 'unique ID per product' from the drop-down menu. This is the code that is unique (different) for each individual product. Make sure that the code you choose really is a unique code: otherwise an error will occur.
To finish up your settings choose a connection status. For Marktplaats, you have the option to 'Activate but send ads paused' next to the regular 'Activate API'. With this option, you can review your ads in your Admarkt account before setting them live.
Important: if you have chosen 'Activate but send ads paused' and want to switch to 'Activate API', you first need to press 'Deactivate API'. The button 'Activate API' is not visible if the API is still on 'Activate but send ads paused'!
Step 5 - Build your ads
Actually building your ads is very simple and fast. With our preset template, all you have to do is to fill it out by clicking on the field itself and select what you would like to go in there. You can do that by clicking on the plus sign on the right-hand side of the field. For instance, the field 'Title' should display the 'Title' of your product and so on. Notice the question mark behind every field. If you hover over the question mark you will see the description of the field and suggestions for possible values. When you have finished setting up the ads, just click 'save' on the bottom of the screen.
Important: For the description and description footer, the only allowed HTML tags are:
<i> <em> <b> <strong> <ul> <li> <u> <br/>
In the Build step, you will also find the Price information. Here, you can configure the price, CPC, and budgets for your ads:
IMPORTANT: the CPC and Budget settings are per ad. In other words, you cannot configure how much you want to spend on Marktplaats Admarkt in total for all ads together, only how much you want to spend on each ad separately (in total and per day). For more information on the CPC and Budget settings on Marktplaats, see this page (in Dutch).
Step 6 - Add your products' attributes
For Marktplaats, Channable has an "Attributes" phase. The Attribute Builder is a convenient feature that gives you a clear overview of that API's required attributes per category. This is especially useful if you sell several different kinds of products that have very specific attribute requirements. To learn more about the attribute builder click here.
Step 7 - Send ads to Admarkt
Almost there, sending your items does not take more than 30 sec. If you have not activated your webshop just go to Settings > Project settings on the left hand side of the screen and click 'activate webshop'. After, go back to the APIs > "Your Admarkt API" > Settings and choose 'active - send products paused' (to test) or choose 'active - send products live' so they are visible to everyone. After you have completed this step you can click the Preview tab of your Admarkt API.
Step 8 - Preview
Once you have sent you ads to Marktplaats go to the Preview tab of your API. Click filter on 'error'. Now you can see which ads have errors and are not placed. See this page on how to correct errors.
