Setting up a Fnac Darty offers + orders API

Do you want to learn interactively all basics related to the creation of an API export, or how to make an advanced setup for an API in Channable? Learn how to create a Channacademy account in the Channable app through this help center article and start with the Basic APIs or Expert APIs course.
Important I: EAN codes are mandatory for Fnac Darty. Make sure you have valid EAN codes for all your products, otherwise no product listings can be created for your products.
Important II: With Channable, you can create a connection with Fnac Darty France only. It's not possible yet to connect with another Fnac Darty country.
Important III: This article assumes you have already advertised on Fnac Darty with your products. If you are new to advertising on Fnac Darty, please also read our support article on how to add unknown EAN codes to Fnac Darty.
Note I: Since the end of May, Fnac & Darty have finished their second merging phase. Please read this article for more information. This means that this article applies for creating offers in both Fnac and Darty.

Step 1: Contact Fnac Darty for your API credentials

In order to sell your products on Fnac Darty, you will need a professional seller account. Please follow the account creation guidelines here (in French, under "Inscriptions et paramètres de compte"). 

Once you have signed up, you can contact Fnac Darty in order to get the Shop ID for Fnac and the Shop ID for Darty. Save them as you will need these IDs in the next step.

Step 2: Create a new Fnac Darty offers + orders connection in Channable

You will first need to create a new connection in Channable. To do this go to "[your name top right corner] > Connections > Add connection". Click on "+ Add a new connection" and you will see two Fnac Darty connections that you can select. Be sure to select the connection named "Fnac Darty offers + orders", not the one named "Fnac Darty products".

Fill in a name for the connection under "Label", we recommend naming the connection Fnac Darty offers + orders API. 

Here, there are three scenarios to take into account: 

  1. If you are creating a Fnac Darty offers + orders API in order to sell your products on Fnac, please fill in the Fnac Shop ID you have received in Step 1. 
  2. If you are creating a Fnac Darty offers + orders API in order to sell your products on Darty, please fill in the Darty Shop ID you have received in Step 1. 
  3. If you wish to sell your products on both Fnac and Darty, you need to create two separate connections (one with Fnac Shop ID and the second with Darty Shop ID). Channable

Click the "Create" button to save your connection.

Step 3: Create a new Fnac Darty offers + orders API

To create a new API, go to your project and "APIs > + Add new API" and select the Fnac Darty offers + orders connection you have previously created.

You will be redirected to the API settings, where you can choose the Name of your API and select the unique ID per item. You can optionally choose to use a master rule group. Then, click on "Continue" to create the new Fnac Darty offers + orders API. 

Here as well, remember the scenarios previously mentioned: 

  1. To sell your products on Fnac, please create one API using the connection with the Fnac Shop ID you have set up in Step 2. 
  2. To sell your products on Darty, please create one API using the connection with the Darty Shop ID you have set up in Step 2. 

Step 4: Create your product listings in Channable

Once you have created the API, you can create your product listings by following the four steps shown below in the Fnac Darty API.

  1. Categories
    You can skip this step as the API does not use the categories.

  2. Rules
    Create different rules to optimize your product data. For example take a look at our common rules support article.

  3. Build
    At the image below you can find our preset template for the product listings. All you have to do is to fill it out by clicking on the field itself and selecting what you would like to go in there. For example, the field 'Title' should display the title of your product and so on. When you have finished setting up the product listings, just click 'save' on the bottom of the screen.
    Tip! Notice the question mark behind every field, if you hover over the question mark you will see the description of the field and suggestions for possible values.

  4. Attributes
    You can skip this step as the API does not use the attributes.

Step 5: Send your product listings to Fnac Darty

Almost there, your product listings are ready to be sent. If you have not activated your project, go to "Settings > Project settings > Activate project". Then, go back to the APIs overview and go to "Your Fnac Darty API > Settings > Activate API". Finally, you can send your product listings to Fnac Darty by clicking on the blue button "Run now". 

Step 6: Check your product listings for errors

If you have sent your product listings to Fnac Darty go to "Preview > Errors" tab of your API. Now you can see which product listings have errors and are not online yet. Click on a specific error to see more information on what is causing the error and check out our error solutions section on how to correct errors.

Error "ERR_026"

If you receive the error "ERR_026" this means that your products are not yet known on Fnac Darty. To solve this error read our support article on how to add unknown EAN codes to Fnac Darty.

Fnac Darty rejects my products because of incorrect categories

If you see this message in your Fnac Darty account, it means they have rejected products based on category listings. This is generally caused by pre-existing mapping on Mirakl platforms such as Fnac Darty. 

To fix this, you can delete the category listings in your FonQ/Mirakl account and then run the API in Channable again. This way you will push a clean slate of categories with your products and this error should be resolved. If this doesn't resolve the issue, then please contact our Technical Support team.
