What is FBB?
When you advertise on Bol.com and receive an order from a consumer, there are two ways in which the order can be fulfilled:
- FBR
This stands for Fulfillment by Retailer. With this option the retailer, you, ship the order to the consumer. - FBB
This stands for Fulfillment By Bol.com. Here you store some of your stock at Bol.com and whenever a product is ordered Bol.com handles the delivery.
Current situation with orders for Lightspeed
When a consumer orders a product on Bol.com the order will be created in your Bol.com seller account. Channable then acts as a middleman, gets the order from Bol.com and sends the order to your Lightspeed system. In addition, the quantity that is ordered is subtracted from the stock in your Lightspeed system to make sure that the stock of your items is up to date. For FBR orders, this approach works seamlessly.
For FBB orders there is no need for the stock to be subtracted as the retailer is not the one doing the shipping. When Channable gets the orders from your Bol.com seller account, the order shows if the fulfillment is FBR or FBB and this is also seen in the shipment status*. An FBR order will have the status "open" whereas an FBB order will have the status "shipped".
The difficulty here is that it is not possible to send orders to your Lightspeed system that have already been set to "shipped". Because of this, the FBB orders are sent as a regular order, meaning the order is sent with the status "open". This, in turn, triggers an unnecessary subtraction of the stock which causes the stock to be incorrectly updated.
What does this mean for you?
The problem, that it is not possible to send FBB orders to your Lightspeed system with the status "shipped", cannot be solved at this time. You will need to keep a close eye whenever you receive an FBB order and check if the stock is updated correctly. If it is not updated correctly, run your import and Bol.com export to overwrite the incorrect stock.
We have asked Lightspeed about the possibilities for supporting orders with a "shipped" status such as the FBB orders. Lightspeed responded that they had looked into different options, but that it is currently not possible to distinguish between orders that have already been shipped and orders that still need to be shipped. All orders that are added in the Lightspeed system will need to be set to "open" at first.
NB: For FBB orders you will need a separate order connection in Channable. If you do not have a separate order connection for FBB orders, we will not retrieve FBB orders from Bol and thus also not send them to your Lightspeed.
