How do stock updates work?
Where there are orders there is stock. In order to prevent the situation in which a consumer orders a product which is no longer in stock Channable does product updates. When Channable picks up an order and the order is created, the stock in the webshop is lowered by the amount ordered. The stock of the product at the marketplace is similarly lowered.
The only place where the stock is not lowered, is within the Channable tool. If you check out the items overview the stock of a product will still be the number that it was in the last run of the import. This is because the product updates process is separate from the regular import and export running process in Channable.
In Channable
In Channable you can see which stock updates have been done by navigating to "Orders > Product updates". Here you will see the stock updates per product and per update. You will either see a number to which the stock is changed or you will see a check mark. The check mark means the webshop does not track the stock for this product, and therefore it doesn’t need to be changed.
It is important to know that due to different technical limitations of the marketplaces, product updates are not processed the same for all integrations. In the table below, you can find the list of marketplaces for which the stock updates are processed immediately and the ones for which the stock updates are sent every 5 minutes:
Immediate stock updates | Processed every 5 minutes |
Amazon | Aliexpress |
Beslist | eBay |
Bol.com | ManoMano |
Fruugo | Mirakl Channels |
Kaufland | Miravia |
Rakuten | Otto |
Walmart | Spartoo |
