How do stock updates work?
Where there are orders there is stock. In order to prevent the situation in which a consumer orders a product which is no longer in stock Channable does product updates. When Channable picks up an order and the order is created in the webshop is lowered by the amount ordered. The stock of the product at the marketplace is similarly lowered.
The only place where the stock is not lowered, is within the Channable tool. If you check out the items overview the stock of a product will still be the number that it was in the last run of the import. This is because the product updates process is separate from the regular import and export running process in Channable.
Important: If you have an order connection and you want to manually run an export, always run the import first. Otherwise, the stock that had been updated by the order connection will be incorrectly overwritten by the stock that is in Channable.
In Channable
In Channable you can see which stock updates have been done by navigating to Orders > Product updates. Here you will either see the stock updates per product and per update. You will either see a number to which the stock is changed or you will see a check mark. The check mark means the webshop does not track the stock for this product and therefore it doesn’t need to be changed. Channable checks every 5 minutes for product updates.
