How do the two different Fnac API connections work?
There are two different connections to Fnac Darty that make a distinction between your product offer and your content. The Fnac Darty offers + Orders API allows you to sell products that are already known to Fnac or Darty, based on EAN codes.
If your EAN codes are unknown to Fnac or Darty, the Fnac Darty offers + Orders API will show an error in the Preview step called "ERR_026: Product not found". This implies that Fnac Darty doesn't know your products and you will have to add the product data of these products to the Miralk Fnac/Darty database. This is done via the Fnac Darty Products API.
Since May 2023, the same scenario applies to the Fnac Darty offers + orders API for Darty since creating new products via Fnac Darty Products API automatically creates products for both Fnac and Darty in Mirakl.
Setting up the Fnac Darty Products API
Step 1: Add a new Fnac Darty Products connection in Channable
The Fnac Darty Products API uses the Mirakl platform, which means you will need a Mirakl account to start sending your product data to Fnac.
When you have a Mirakl Fnac account, go to "[Your company] settings menu (in the top right corner) > Connections > Add connection". Click on "+ Add a new connection" and you will see a screen, where you can select Fnac Darty Products. Fill in the label for your connection, for example, Fnac Darty products. And then click on ''Connect with Fnac''. You will be redirected to the environment where you can log in with your Mirakl credentials. After logging in, you will be redirected back to Channable where the connection will be available.
Step 2: Create a new Fnac Darty Products API in Channable
To create a new API, go to your project and "APIs > + Add new API" and select the Fnac Darty Products connection you have previously created - and not the Fnac Darty offers + orders connection.
You will be redirected to the API settings, where you can choose the Name of your API and select the unique ID per item and the Country of France. You can optionally choose to use a master rule group. Then, click on "Continue" to create the new Fnac Darty offers + orders API.
Step 3: Create your product data in Channable
Once you have created the Fnac Darty Products API you can set up your product data by following the steps of the API.
- Categories
For your product data to be created your products need a category. Add categories to your products by using the generate categories feature or create new categories from scratch. - Rules
Create different rules to optimize your product data. For example, take a look at our common rules support article. - Build
Here you can find our preset template for the product listings. All you have to do is to fill it out by clicking on the field itself and selecting what you would like to go in there. For example, the field "Title" should display the title of your product. When you have finished setting up the product listings, just click "Save" at the bottom of the screen.Tip! Notice the question mark behind every field, if you hover over the question mark you will see the description of the field and suggestions for possible values. - Attributes
Almost done! Next up is filling in the fields in the Attributes step. Select the category you want to optimize first. An example of what should be in front of you now can be seen in the screenshot below. A more detailed explanation of what to do in the Attributes step can be found in our Attributes support article.
Step 4: Send your products data to Fnac Darty
Almost there, your product listings are ready to be sent. If you have not activated your webshop go to Settings > Project settings on the left-hand side of the screen and click 'activate webshop'. After, go back to the APIs overview and go to "Your Fnac Darty API Name" > Settings where you activate the API by selecting "Activate API". After you have completed this step navigate back to the APIs overview and select the blue "Run now" button to send your product listings to Fnac Darty.
Step 5: Check your product data for errors
If you have sent your product data to Mirakl Fnac Darty, go to the Preview tab of your Fnac Darty Products API. Click 'filter on error'. Now you can see which product listings have errors and are not placed. Click on a specific error to see more information on what is causing the error and check out our error solutions section on how to correct errors.
Step 6: Deactivate the Fnac Darty Products API
It is not necessary for the Fnac Darty Products API to be activated the entire time since it is only used for updating the content of the products. Check the Preview step of the Fnac Darty Offers+Orders API (if you do not have a Fnac Darty Offers+Orders API yet, see our support article) to see if there is an error called "ERR_026: Product not found". If the Preview shows this error the Fnac Darty Products API should be activated. If the Preview does not show this error, the Fnac Darty Products API should be deactivated.
