# How to set up a bol channel

Bol (formerly bol.com) is a popular marketplace in the Netherlands and Belgium that sells a range of general goods.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to connect bol to Channable to create and manage product listings.

**Important:** If you add products after setup, or your data does not meet bol requirements, bol can flag listings with errors like `productinformatie zwak` or missing images. To fix this, complete the category and attribute mapping in your channel.

**You’ll need**

* **A bol seller account**
* **To log out of your bol account before starting**: Staying logged in can cause automatic sign-in issues during setup.
* **Products with valid EAN codes**: bol only lists products with valid EANs.
* **An active connection**: Your channel can fail to run if the connection expires. If that happens, [renew your connection](/get-started/getting-started/connections-in-channable/how-to-renew-a-connection.md).

**Good to know**

* **Shop settings must match your market**: If your shop country is the Netherlands, your products are listed on bol NL. If your shop country is Belgium, your products appear on bol BE.

### Create a bol channel

1. In Channable, go to **Projects** > **\[Your project]** > **Channels.**
2. Click **+ Create Channel**, search for **bol**, and select it.
3. Set up your channel settings:
   1. For **Name**, enter a name for your channel.
   2. For **Unique ID per item**, select the field that contains your EANs, such as `ean` or `gtin`.
   3. For **Content language**, select the language of your product data:
      * Select **Dutch** to list in Dutch.
      * Select **French** to list in French.
      * To list in both, see [#listing-on-bol-in-french-and-dutch](#listing-on-bol-in-french-and-dutch "mention")
   4. For **Content only**, leave this disabled unless this is your second bol channel on the same connection.
   5. For **Use master rule group (optional)**, apply a rule group if you already have one or leave this empty.
4. Click **Save** to create your channel.

#### Listing on bol in French and Dutch

To list in a second language from the same seller account, create another channel.

When you set it up:

1. Return to **Channels** and create a new bol channel.
2. For **Content language**, select the language you did not choose in your first channel.
3. For **Content only**, select **Only push content data to Bol**.
4. Click **Save**.
5. Finish setup for both channels as described in this guide.

### Create product listings <a href="#id-01jwavqfn4hxncc489h6cqr6w3" id="id-01jwavqfn4hxncc489h6cqr6w3"></a>

If bol recognizes your EANs, it assigns categories automatically. In that case, you can skip the **Categories** step.

1. Go to the **Build step**.
2. In the **Shared attributes** tab, map the following:
   1. In the **Item** section, map each attribute to the matching field from your import, such as `title` for Title or `stock` for Stock.
      * Hover over <i class="fa-circle-question">:circle-question:</i> to see accepted values and format requirements.
      * At **Delivery code** (optional), you can [set a shipping time for your products](/list-advertise/bol/list-items-on-bol/how-do-i-set-my-delivery-code-for-bol.md).
   2. In **Offer condition**, map the fields that describe the condition of your offer.
      * For **Condition**, specify your item condition:
        * If all your items share the same condition, click **Supported values** and select the condition from the list.
        * If your items have mixed conditions (for example, some new, some used), [select the project field containing your condition information per item](/manage-improve-product-data/rules-bulk-edit-and-enrich/how-to-use-actions-then-in-rules/rule-action-set-to-value.md).
      * If you select the **Refurbished** condition, map these additional attributes:
        * **Refurbished condition grade:** Select the supported value indicating your condition grade, or [map the project field containing your grade information per item](/manage-improve-product-data/rules-bulk-edit-and-enrich/how-to-use-actions-then-in-rules/rule-action-set-to-value.md). This must match the accepted values (`A`, `B`, or `C`).
        * **Refurbished condition margin:** Select the supported value indicating your condition margin, or [map the project field containing your margin information per item](/manage-improve-product-data/rules-bulk-edit-and-enrich/how-to-use-actions-then-in-rules/rule-action-set-to-value.md). This must match the accepted values (`true` or `false`).
          * Use `true` if VAT was already paid for the item. The buyer won’t pay VAT again (0% VAT), and business buyers can’t reclaim VAT. Otherwise, set it to `false`.
   3. At **Volume discount** (optional), click **+ Volume discount** to [set discounts for customers who buy in bulk](/list-advertise/bol/list-items-on-bol/configure-volume-discounts-for-bol.md).
   4. At **Price reduction** (optional), you can opt in or out of bol’s reduced commission offer for eligible products. You can also [configure Channable to exclude products automatically when this causes a net loss, or set a maximum acceptable loss](/list-advertise/bol/bol-repricer/configuring-automatic-price-reduction-for-bol.md).
   5. For **Images**, link the images or media assets to include in your bol product listings:
      1. To add a **Labelled asset**, click **+ Add labelled asset**. For **Link**, map the field that contains your label images. For **Label**, describe the label position or type.
      2. To add an image, click **+ Image**. A new field will appear. Click on it and map the field containing your images.
3. Map any remaining fields marked as required by marketplace.
4. Click **Save** to save your changes.

### Fulfill GPSR and DSA requirements <a href="#h_01jhta95mcdpxzxevepnpvr8cj" id="h_01jhta95mcdpxzxevepnpvr8cj"></a>

The EU introduced GPSR and DSA requirements for online platforms, including marketplaces.

To comply with GPSR on bol:

1. [Follow bol’s instructions](https://partnerplatform.bol.com/en/need-help/my-account/adding-responsible-economic-operators-within-the-eu/) to add an economic operator to your seller account. Make a note of the operator name.
2. In Channable, open **\[your bol channel]** and go to the **Build** step.
3. At **Economic operator**, click the dropdown and select **Manual**. Enter the name of your economic operator in **Enter a value here**.
   1. If you use multiple economic operators, [create a new project field](/get-started/getting-started/fields-in-channable/map-and-add-fields.md) and use [rules](/manage-improve-product-data/rules-bulk-edit-and-enrich/using-rules.md) to assign the right operator per product. Then map that field here with **Project fields** > **\[your economic operator field]**.
4. Click **Save**.

### Connect to bol

To send listings and receive feedback, connect your channel to your bol seller account.

**Important:** When you activate and run the channel, Channable overwrites the listing data managed through this integration. Manage important listing data in Channable.

1. In **\[your bol channel]**, go to **Settings**.
2. At **Linked seller account**, click **Select seller account**.
3. Select or add a seller account.
   1. If adding a new seller account:
      1. For **Label**, enter a name for your connection.
      2. Click **Connect with Bol**.
4. You’ll be redirected to bol to sign in and accept the required permissions.

### Activate and send listings to bol

1. Activate your project if needed with **Settings** > **Activate Project** > **Save**.
2. Go to **Settings** in **\[your bol channel]** and click **Activate API**.
3. Click **Save**.
4. Click **Run now** to send your product listings to bol.

### Review and fix listing errors in Channable <a href="#h_01j159a025z0n7zndggqd2v4mm" id="h_01j159a025z0n7zndggqd2v4mm"></a>

Go to the **Result** step and open the **Feedback** tab. This shows the processing errors in your product data.

#### Resolving errors <a href="#h_01jtnb07byrg3zy1c65y4evt91" id="h_01jtnb07byrg3zy1c65y4evt91"></a>

1. In **Description**, click on the error name. This takes you to an overview of the products with that error.
2. In **ID**, click the ID number and scroll. You should see a red highlighted callout in the section where the error occurred. Hover over the callout for more information.
   1. If the error is a mapping error, click **View in build** to be directed to the attribute you need to map/re-map, which is highlighted in blue.
   2. For more information about the attribute and its accepted values, hover over the help icon.
3. Resolve the error.

Open the product overview in **\[your bol seller account]** and check for `productinformatie zwak` or missing images. If you see either issue, complete your category mapping and update the relevant fields in the **Build** step.
