Fulfilled by Marketplace

Learn how Channable imports orders that are stored and shipped by the marketplace itself.)

Channable currently supports fulfillment by marketplaces for Amazon, bol, CDiscount, FNAC Darty Offers, Zalando, and all Mirakl-based channels.

What is Fulfilled by Marketplace?

When you list on a marketplace and receive an order from a customer, you can fulfill the order in one of two ways:

  • Merchant Fulfillment Network: You, the seller, ship the order to the customer.

  • Fulfilled by marketplace: You store your items (or part of your items) stock at the marketplace’s warehouse. Whenever a product is ordered, the marketplace handles the delivery.

How Channable processes marketplace fulfilled orders

When a marketplace fulfilled order happens, the marketplace has already handled the shipping. Channable's job is to inform your eCommerce platform so your accounting and inventory stay updated.

For Shopify, Magento, Shopware 6, Lightspeed, and Lightspeed eSeries

Channable creates the order in your eCommerce platform and automatically sets the status to "Shipped." No manual action is required from you.

For all other platforms

Channable creates the order in your eCommerce platform with an "Open" status and attaches a Suffix (like 12345-AFN) to the marketplace order number.

  • This suffix helps you identify that you should not ship this item.

  • You may need to manually close these orders in your eCommerce platform depending on your internal workflow.

Stock updates

Channable does not send stock updates to the marketplace for Fulfilled by Marketplace items, since the marketplace already knows how many items are in their warehouse.

When Channable creates an open Fulfilled by Marketplaceorder in your eCommerce platform, if it’s manually set to Shipped, your eCommerce platform might wrongly decrease the stock quantity. If you share stock between your warehouse and the marketplace, make sure your eCommerce platform accounts for that.
