### The differences between a feed and an API channel <a href="#h_01jp2874fkh600b591mf5wsxz0" id="h_01jp2874fkh600b591mf5wsxz0"></a>

If you set up a Google Shopping channel, you need to **choose between a feed and an API**. For the rest of the channels, [marketplaces](/list-advertise/sell-on-marketplaces/get-started-with-marketplaces.md) (e.g. Amazon, bol, eBay) use an API setup and channels like Meta, Pinterest and Galaxus use a [feed setup](/list-advertise/list-on-channels/how-to-use-ai-feed-setup.md).

* **Feed** (Scheduled updates): Sends your product data to the platform (e.g. Google) at regular, scheduled intervals (e.g. once a day). It’s quick to set up and requires less maintenance.
* **API** (Real-time updates): Connects directly to the platform to update your listings instantly whenever there's a change. It offers advanced control and direct feedback from the platform.
