# eBay: Map attributes for trading cards and coins

Learn how to map eBay condition descriptors for trading cards and coins, including graders, grades, certification numbers, and condition codes.

If your eBay channel lists **trading cards** or **coins**, eBay requires item condition descriptors.

If you don't map these descriptors, eBay will reject your listings.

### What are condition descriptors?

eBay uses condition descriptors to provide more information about trading card and coin conditions.

Condition descriptors apply to these trading card categories:

| Sub-category                   | Category ID |
| ------------------------------ | ----------- |
| Non-Sport Trading Card Singles | 183050      |
| Sports Trading Card Singles    | 261328      |
| CCG Individual Cards           | 183454      |

They also apply to these parent coin categories:

{% hint style="info" %}
All sub-categories of the following coin categories require condition descriptors too.
{% endhint %}

| Sub-category    | Category ID |
| --------------- | ----------- |
| Coins: US       | 253         |
| Coins: World    | 256         |
| Coins: Canada   | 3377        |
| Coins: Ancient  | 4733        |
| Coins: Medieval | 18466       |

### Map condition descriptors

Channable sends the descriptor **ID** to eBay, not its representative text. eBay uses the ID to distinguish values. The exception is the [**Certification Number**](#certification-number) ID, which is sent through **Additional info**.

Different items require different levels of detail.

For example, if listing a trading card graded by a company, you may need to provide condition descriptors for the card's **Grade**, its **Professional Grader** and **Certification Number**.

The **Build** step lets you add the descriptor entries your trading cards or coins require:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Go to Item condition in your channel

1. In your eBay channel, go to the **Build** step.
2. On the **Shared attributes** tab, scroll to **Item condition**.
   {% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Add a condition descriptor

1. At **Condition descriptors (Trading cards & coins only)**, click **+ Add**.
2. In **Descriptor type**, **Value**, and **Additional info**, add the required entries for your trading cards and/or coins:

{% hint style="warning" %}

#### Important

If every item has the same descriptor (e.g., all your trading cards are graded by PSA), click **Supported values** > **\[select the value]**.

If the descriptor values differ between items, map the project field containing the corresponding condition descriptor ID for those items.

For example, a card graded `10` should send the grade ID `275020`. A card graded `9` should send grade ID `275022`.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Have different conditions per trading card and/or coin, but don't have their eBay id values imported into Channable? See [Filling missing values](#filling-missing-values).
{% endhint %}

If you have different ID values per trading card and/or coin and haven't imported this data into Channable yet, you can [create project fields for your missing data and fill them using rules](/list-advertise/list-on-channels/fill-missing-attribute-data.md).

#### Example

Create two project fields to fill. For **Grade**, name it `grade` for **Professional grader**, name it `professional_grader` .

{% hint style="info" %}

#### Example rule: Fill values for PSA 10 cards based on title

**If** `title` contains "PSA 10"

**then** take `grade` and `set to value` "275020"

**and**

take `professional_grader` and `set to value` "275010".
{% endhint %}

Click **Save** and map these fields in the **Build** step.

Repeat creating rules until your cards are all defined with the condition information needed.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://helpcenter.channable.com/list-advertise/sell-on-marketplaces/ebay/ebay-map-attributes-for-trading-cards-and-coins.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
