How to set up an eBay channel
Set up an eBay channel in Channable, map product data, and publish listings.
eBay is a popular multinational online marketplace where individuals and businesses can buy and sell services, or new and used items.
In this article, you’ll learn how to create an eBay channel to create, manage, and list on eBay.
Before you start
You'll need
An eBay account
Good to know
eBay charges a fee per product added. Removing and re-adding products with rules, or having significant feed fluctuations, will create new listings and may result in unexpected costs. Note: Some eBay subscriptions allow you to list a set number of products for a monthly fee.
We don't clear eBay APIs because this requires listing costs to be paid again.
If you want to keep your reviews and history for existing eBay listings, we can help. Contact our Support team for more information.
Create your eBay channel
In Channable, go to Channels.
Search for and select eBay.
Set up your channel settings:
Name: Provide a unique name for your channel. Used to identify it within Channable.
Unique ID per item: Select the field containing your product IDs (this is often ‘id’).
eBay country: Select the eBay country you want to list in. The country you choose will influence the information you need to provide in later steps.
eBay status: Select the publication level you want:
Verify only: Use this to test for errors without publishing your listings on eBay
Publish: Use this once you’re ready to publish your listings on eBay
Use master rule group (optional): Add a master rule group or leave this empty.
Click Save.
Create rules
When your product data is incomplete or doesn’t match the format that eBay requires, you can use rules to tweak and optimize your product data to meet listing requirements.
In [your eBay channel], go to the Rules step.
Click Create rule.
Use rule templates or create a custom rule based on what you would like to adjust.
Click Save.
For more information on how to set up a rule, or rule combinations, refer to our rules articles.
Map shared attributes
Click Auto-map fields to automatically fill these attributes based on AI. You can review the changes before you accept them.
In [your eBay channel], go to the Build step.
Map attributes marked as Required by marketplace.
If you list trading cards or coins, there are additional attributes you need to map. See eBay: Map attributes for trading cards and coins.
If you're an eBay storefront owner, fill in your Storefront category ID and Storefront category name.
In the Profiles section, provide either the name or ID for your eBay Shipping, Payment, and Return profiles.
Go over and map any remaining attributes that are relevant for your business.
Click Save.
Configure shared attributes
Map category-specific attributes
Category-specific attributes are attributes that specifically apply to products from certain categories.
In the Build step, click on the Attributes per category tab.
Map any attributes marked as Required by marketplace.
Go over and map any remaining attributes that are relevant for your business.
Click Save.
Map energy efficiency information
For goods with an energy efficiency label, map these attributes:

You can find the EPREL Registration Number in the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL).
Energy Efficiency Rating
EC Range
Energy efficiency requirements
For more information on what information you need to provide for energy efficiency and applicable categories, see eBay's docs on Energy efficiency labelling.
Click Auto-map fields to automatically fill these attributes based on AI. You can review the changes before accepting them.
Activate your channel
Select the Settings step in [your eBay channel].
At Linked seller account, click Select seller account > Connect with eBay. We'll redirect you to eBay to log in and accept requested permissions. Once accepted, you'll be redirected back to Channable.
Click Activate API.

Check your product listings for errors
Go to the Result step and click on the Feedback tab. This page displays all possible processing errors your product data has at a given moment.
Resolving errors
In Description, click on the error name. This takes you to an overview of the products with that error.
In ID, click the ID number and scroll. You should see a red highlighted callout in the section where the error occurred. Hover over the callout for more information.
If the error is a mapping error, click View in build to be directed to the attribute you need to map/re-map, which is highlighted in blue.
For more information about the attribute and its accepted values, hover over .
