# How to delete an API

If you decide that you no longer need a particular API, deleting it is very simple. Good to remember is that once an API is deleted, it is permanently deleted.

To delete an API follow these steps:

### Open API settings

Go to the **Settings** step of the API you wish to delete, and click on the **gear symbol** on the top right side.

### Delete the API

Select **Delete API**, type *delete* and click once again on **Delete API** to remove the API entirely.
