# How to set up a Marktplaats channel

Marktplaats is the largest online marketplace in the Netherlands where individuals and businesses can buy and sell services, or new and used items.&#x20;

In this article, you’ll learn how to create an eBay channel to create, manage, and list on Marktplaats.

**You’ll need**&#x20;

* A Marktplaats pro account

**Good to know**

* You might need to [renew your Marktplaats connection](https://app.gitbook.com/s/UAGSVlvcNsqEqVUgr0tD/getting-started/connections-in-channable/how-to-renew-a-connection) after some time.

### Step 1: Create your Marktplaats channel <a href="#h_01k8tsy07htcr2xnqd3n1bnc6y" id="h_01k8tsy07htcr2xnqd3n1bnc6y"></a>

1. In Channable, go to **Channels**.
2. Search for and select **Marktplaats Pro**.
3. Set up your channel settings:
   1. **Name**: Provide a unique name for your channel. Used to identify it within Channable.
   2. **Unique ID per item**: Select the field containing your product IDs (this is often ‘id’).
   3. **Use master rule group:** Add a master rule group or leave this empty.
4. Click **Save**.

### Step 2: Categorize your products <a href="#h_01hvgh3j37a4rxcf5m7vty0gec" id="h_01hvgh3j37a4rxcf5m7vty0gec"></a>

1. In **\[your Marktplaats channel]**, go to the **Categories** step.
2. Our AI will automatically start to categorize your products to corresponding categories on Marktplaats.
3. Map (assign) categories for all remaining uncategorized items.

### Step 3: Create rules to enrich, filter, and refine your product data <a href="#h_01k8tszek9qkkbb6f9q003qcwb" id="h_01k8tszek9qkkbb6f9q003qcwb"></a>

When your product data is incomplete or doesn’t match the format that Marktplaats requires, you can use[ rules](https://app.gitbook.com/s/u8whzIfip72Kvn3M1bsc/rules-bulk-edit-and-enrich/using-rules) to tweak and optimize your product data to meet listing requirements.[ ](https://helpcenter.channable.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011132679)

1. In **\[your Marktplaats channel]**, go to the **Rules** step.
2. Click **Create rule**.
3. Use rule templates or create a custom rule based on what you would like to adjust.&#x20;
4. Click **Save**.

### Step 4: Map shared attributes <a href="#h_01k8tt0msmc8f0hkzbpb21ynre" id="h_01k8tt0msmc8f0hkzbpb21ynre"></a>

1. In **\[your Marktplaats channel]**, go to the **Build** step.
2. Map any attributes marked as **Required by marketplace**.&#x20;

3. Go over and map any remaining attributes that are relevant for your business.
4. Click **Save**.

### Step 5: Map category attributes <a href="#h_01k8tt1rmb0cdmq9ywker8nh9x" id="h_01k8tt1rmb0cdmq9ywker8nh9x"></a>

1. In the **Build** step, click on the **Attributes per category** tab.
2. Select a category.
3. Map any attributes marked as **Required by marketplace**.&#x20;
4. Go over and map any remaining attributes that are relevant for your business.
5. Click **Save**.
6. Repeat this process for your remaining categories.

### Step 6: Connect to Marktplaats <a href="#h_01k8tt29y1yr3dz56a3d0zdewr" id="h_01k8tt29y1yr3dz56a3d0zdewr"></a>

To send your listings to Marktplaats, you need to connect your channel to your Marktplaats pro seller account.

**Important:** Nothing will change in your Marktplaats account - any existing listings stay exactly the same until you activate.

1. Log in to Marktplaats with your Marktplaats Pro account.
2. Back in Channable, open **\[your Marktplaats channel]** and go to the **Settings** step.
3. At **Linked seller account**, click **Select seller account**.&#x20;
4. Select an existing seller account, or click **+ Add new connection** to add a new seller account.
   1. If adding a new seller account:
      1. For **Label**: Name your seller account connection.
      2. Click **Connect with Marktplaats**.&#x20;
5. We'll redirect you to Marktplaats to log in with your credentials and accept permissions.

### Step 7: Activate your channel <a href="#h_01k8tt2tnh2jwh4y0w8r5ymtvr" id="h_01k8tt2tnh2jwh4y0w8r5ymtvr"></a>

1. Go to the **Settings** step of \[**your Marktplaats channel]**.
2. Choose how you want to activate your channel:
   1. To send your listings to Marktplaats without publishing them, click **Active - send products paused**.&#x20;
   2. To send and publish your listings to Marktplaats, click **Activate API**.&#x20;
3. Click **Save.**
4. Click **Run now** to send your product listings to Marktplaats.

To see which product listings are now active on Marktplaats , go to the **Preview** step.

**Important**: If you chose to send your listings without publishing them **(Active - send products paused**), once you're ready to publish your listings, click **Deactivate API** to enable **Activate API.**&#x20;

### Step 8: Review and fix listing errors <a href="#h_01k8ttb2mhnser25ckk1bfr8q5" id="h_01k8ttb2mhnser25ckk1bfr8q5"></a>

Go to the **Result** step and click on the **Errors** tab. This page displays all possible processing errors your product data has at a given moment.

#### **Resolving errors:** <a href="#h_01k8tt34f9xqytpv60ys8a9dnb" id="h_01k8tt34f9xqytpv60ys8a9dnb"></a>

1. In **Description**, click on the error name. This takes you to an overview of the products with that error.
2. In **ID**, click the ID number and scroll. You should see a red highlighted callout in the section where the error occurred. You can hover over the callout for more information.
   1. If the error is a mapping error, click **View in build** to be directed to the attribute you need to map/re-map. The offending attribute is highlighted in blue. For more information about the attribute and its accepted values, hover over the ? icon.
3. Resolve the error.
