### <i class="fa-memo-circle-check">:memo-circle-check:</i> Before you start

**You'll need**

* A **TikTok Seller account**
* To meet registration requirements

The registration requirements vary by region. You’ll need to provide the following information based on the country you want to sell in:

<details>

<summary>EU seller registration requirements</summary>

TikTok Shop distinguishes between **EU source markets** and **EU storefronts**.

**EU source markets**

* The Netherlands
* Belgium
* Poland
* Germany
* France
* Spain
* Italy
* Ireland

All EU sellers need a local warehouse and a local business certificate in one of these source markets.

**Storefront-only countries**

Storefront-only countries let you sell through TikTok Shop, but they do not count as EU source markets for seller registration.

Current storefront-only countries:

* Austria
* Czech Republic
* Greece
* Hungary
* Portugal

{% hint style="info" %}
If you expand from an EU source market into a storefront-only country, you still need your local warehouse and local business certificate in one of the EU source markets listed above.
{% endhint %}

### Other requirements

* **Director's ID**: High-resolution color scan of a valid EU passport or national ID card.
* **Company certificate**: Official local trade registry extract from one of the EU source markets that matches your registration details.
* **Director's proof of address**: Unredacted utility bill or bank statement showing the director's residential address, dated within the last 3 months.
* **VAT number**: Local European VAT identification number and official certificate
* **Domestic warehouse/return address**: A physical street address in one of the EU source markets for local fulfillment and buyer returns.
* **UBO Information**: Legal names, dates of birth, and home addresses for any individual owning 25% or more of the company.
* **Extra documents for some registrations**: TikTok can ask for additional documents, such as the first full page of your business bank account statement.

{% hint style="info" %}
For more information on requirements, refer to TikTok's '[TikTok Shop EU Seller Registration Policy](https://seller-fr.tiktok.com/university/essay?knowledge_id=8264827860764448&)'.

<summary>TikTok limits how fast items can be uploaded</summary>

TikTok has rate limits for Channable and each unique seller account:

* **Channable's limit:** Channable can only perform a specific amount of requests for all clients. Creating and updating new products can take longer because of this.
* **Your account's limits:** During your probation period, you can upload up to 100 products per day. After the probation period ends, you can upload up to 1,000 products per day.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you have a lot of products, we recommend starting with a smaller group to get your products listed on TikTok Shop faster.
{% endhint %}

</details>

<details>

<summary>We can't update or delete listings created outside Channable</summary>

Channable can't update or delete listings that you created on TikTok Shop outside Channable.

To manage those products in Channable, recreate them in your TikTok Shop channel, and then delete the duplicates in your TikTok Shop account.

   {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Build product listings

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Categorize your items

Categorize your items so they match TikTok Shop's taxonomy and appear in the right place.

1. Go to the **Categories** step.
2. Choose your categorization method(s):
   1. **Generate from field:** Select a category field (like `product_type`, `category`) from your product data to quickly match items to categories.
   2. **+ Add category rule:** Add text-based conditions to assign categories to items in bulk.
   3. **Copy from channel:** Reuse categories you've set up from another channel.
3. Click **Save**.

For details, see [Marketplaces: Categories step](/list-advertise/sell-on-marketplaces/get-started-with-marketplaces/marketplaces-categorization-step.md).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Set up rules

Use rules to prepare product data for TikTok Shop. If later steps show missing data, create project fields and populate them with rules. You can also adjust existing fields to meet TikTok Shop's requirements.

Start from a rule template and adjust it, or create your own rules.

For details, see [Marketplaces: Rules step](/list-advertise/sell-on-marketplaces/get-started-with-marketplaces/marketplaces-rules-step.md)
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Build your listings

In the **Build** step, you map your product data to TikTok's attributes. Each attribute is marked as one of the following:

* **Required by marketplace:** Required to list products on TikTok Shop.
* **Recommended:** Not required, but helps you avoid errors and improves performance.
* **Optional:** Not immediately known whether needed. It may end up once you receive feedback after running your channel.

**The two tabs**

Attributes are grouped into two main tabs:

* **Shared attributes** apply to all your products, such as EAN, price, and title.
* **Category-specific attributes** apply only to products in a certain category, such as `size` for clothing or `dimensions` for furniture.

<details>

<summary>How to map fields</summary>

For all attributes, you can select a project field to use dynamic values.

For some additional attributes, you can fill in a **custom value**, or select a **supported value**.

* A supported or custom value stays the same for every product, such as a brand name.
* A dynamic value comes from a field in your data, such as stock or price.

If you're not sure what values are accepted for an attribute, hover over the question <i class="fa-circle-question">:circle-question:</i> tooltip for more information.

</details>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Fill in TikTok-specific fields

A few attributes in the **Build** step need information from your TikTok Seller account or extra setup.

<details>

<summary>Images</summary>

The TikTok Shop channel only sends image links from project fields with the `image` field type. Before you map an image attribute, [check the type](/get-started/getting-started/fields-in-channable/types-of-fields-in-channable.md) of the field that holds your image links.

If your image links are in a field with another type, such as `text`:

1. [Create a project field](/get-started/getting-started/fields-in-channable/map-and-add-fields.md) with the `image` type.
2. Use a [rule](/manage-improve-product-data/rules-bulk-edit-and-enrich/rules-in-channable.md) to copy your image links into the new field.
3. In the **Build** step, for **Images**, click **+ Add**.
4. In the dropdown, map the new field containing your image links.
5. Click **Save**.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Warehouse name</summary>

1. In your TikTok Seller account, go to **My account > Account settings**.

2. Open **Warehouse settings**.

<figure><img src="https://3067532480-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FF8GepmoSonQRG6RnHOxJ%2Fuploads%2FfqHApqwMLoKOp0oQLKTy%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=94692523-0816-4579-8d64-05c0b9ac2c3b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

3. Add the warehouse that you ship your products from.
4. Copy the value in **Warehouse name/code**. Don't copy the warehouse ID.
5. In Channable, open the **Build** step.
6. In the **Warehouse name** list, select **Custom**.
7. Paste the warehouse name in the field, and click **Apply**.
8. Click **Save**.

If you ship from more than one warehouse, [create a project field](/list-advertise/list-on-channels/fill-missing-attribute-data.md) for the warehouse name. Use [rules](/manage-improve-product-data/rules-bulk-edit-and-enrich/rules-in-channable.md) to fill it with the right warehouse for each product, and then map that field to **Warehouse name**.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Size chart ID</summary>

Some categories, mainly fashion, require a size chart. You create the size chart in TikTok, and then add its ID to the products that use it.

1. In TikTok Seller Center, go to **Products > Bulk Actions > Batch Manage Size Charts**.
2. Create a new size chart. It appears in your list of size charts.
3. Copy the size chart ID. It's shown below the size chart's title.

<figure><img src="https://3067532480-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FF8GepmoSonQRG6RnHOxJ%2Fuploads%2F6Mw4SzojJtaf5IGxLMen%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=2006945d-d693-4203-99ee-25a0493e0e28" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

4. In Channable, open the **Build** step.
5. Add the ID to **Size chart ID**:
   * If all your products use the same size chart, select **Manual** and paste the ID.
   * If products use different size charts, map a field that contains the right ID for each product.
6. Click **Save**.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Package dimensions</summary>

TikTok requires package dimensions for every product. TikTok uses them the dimensions to estimate warehouse space for **Fulfilled by TikTok** orders.

1. In the **Build** step, go to the **Packaging** section.
2. Fill in attributes based on your use case:
   * If TikTok fulfills your orders, map the fields that contain your package dimensions.
   * If you fulfill orders yourself, create a project field with a placeholder value, and map it to each attribute. The placeholder can be any number greater than zero.
3. Click **Save**.

</details>

**EU only**

The European Union (EU) has introduced new [GPSR and DSA requirements](/list-advertise/sell-on-marketplaces/get-started-with-marketplaces/what-you-need-to-do-to-be-gpsr-and-dsa-compliant.md) for online platforms, including marketplaces:

<details>

<summary>Manufacturer IDs (EU only)</summary>

Under the EU's [GPSR and DSA requirements](/list-advertise/sell-on-marketplaces/get-started-with-marketplaces/what-you-need-to-do-to-be-gpsr-and-dsa-compliant.md), you need to provide the ID of the manufacturer of your products. You can find it in your TikTok Seller account under **Settings > Qualification Centre > Manufacturer information**.

1. In the **Build** step, go to the **Item** section.
2. For **Manufacturer IDs**, click **+ Add**.
3. Add the manufacturer ID:
   * If all your products have the same manufacturer, select **Custom**, enter the ID, and click **Apply**.
   * If the manufacturer differs per product, map the field that contains the ID. If you don't have this field yet, [create a project field](/list-advertise/list-on-channels/fill-missing-attribute-data.md), fill it with a [rule](/manage-improve-product-data/rules-bulk-edit-and-enrich/rules-in-channable.md), and then map it here.
4. Click **Save**.

</details>

<details>

<summary>EU Responsible person (EU only)</summary>

GPSR and DSA also require the ID of your EU responsible person. You can find it in your TikTok Seller account under **Settings > Qualification Centre > Responsible person**.

1. In the **Build** step, go to the **Item** section.
2. For **EU responsible person IDs**, click **+ Add**.
3. Add the responsible person's ID:
   * If the same person applies to all your products, select **Manual** and enter the ID.
   * If the responsible person differs per product, map the field that contains the ID.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Product certifications (EU only)</summary>

When selling in the EU, some product types need certification information.

1. In the **Build** step, go to the **Product certification** section.
2. At **Product certifications**, click **+ Add**.
3. For **Certification name**, select the certification type.
4. For **Image**, map the field that contains the image of the certification.
5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for each certification.
6. Click **Save**.

</details>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Check the quality of your setup

The **Quality** step lists errors in your product data before you activate the channel. Fix mandatory errors first, and then optional ones.

To fix an error, use one of these actions:

* **View items:** Shows the products that have the error.
* **View in build:** Opens the **Build** step so you can map the missing information.
* **Set categories:** Opens the categories step so you can categorize products.
* **Show source:** Opens the **Settings** step. Available for ID fields only.

For details, see [Marketplaces: Quality step](/list-advertise/sell-on-marketplaces/get-started-with-marketplaces/marketplaces-quality-step.md).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Preview your listings

The **Preview** step shows the attributes you mapped in the **Build** step for each product, so you can check them before you go live.

1. Optional: Filter the preview:
   * To show only products with errors, or with one specific error, use the **All** list.
   * To show one category, use the **All categories** list.
2. Check that all mandatory shared attributes are filled in.
3. Check that all mandatory category-specific attributes are filled in.
4. Fix any fields marked in red.

For details, see [Marketplace: Preview step](/list-advertise/sell-on-marketplaces/get-started-with-marketplaces/marketplaces-preview-step.md).
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Connect to TikTok and send your listings

To send your listings to TikTok, you need to connect your channel to your TikTok seller account account.

{% hint style="warning" %}

#### **Important**

Nothing will change in your TikTok account **yet** - any existing listings stay exactly the same until you activate.
{% endhint %}

1. In **\[your TikTok channel]**, go to the **Settings** step.
2. At **Linked seller account**, click **Select seller account**.
3. Select an existing account, or add a new account.
   1. If adding a new seller account:
      1. For **Label**: Name your seller account connection.
      2. Click **Connect with TikTok**. We'll redirect you to TikTok to log in with your credentials and accept permissions.
4. Back in the **Settings** step, click **Activate API**.
5. Click **Save**.
6. Click **Run now** to send your product listings to TikTok Shop.

   <div data-gb-custom-block data-tag="hint" data-style="info" class="hint hint-info"><h4><strong>Note</strong></h4><p>Depending on the amount of products and images being pushed to TikTok, this can take some time.</p></div>

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Check your listings for errors

TikTok has a technical issue that prevents us from showing errors in Channable. TikTok is working on a fix. Until then, check the results of your export in your TikTok Seller account.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://helpcenter.channable.com/list-advertise/sell-on-marketplaces/tiktok/how-to-set-up-a-tiktok-shop-channel.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
