Set up Insights for orders
Set up an order-based Insights dashboard to track marketplace revenue, cost, commission, and shipping.
Insights based on sales and cost analysis data (commissions and/or shipping costs) uses order data to break down your listing performance.
In this article, we explain how to set up Insights for orders in your Channable account. After setting up Insights for orders, you’ll:
Get a graphical overview of revenue compared to costs
Be able to use Insights fields to create rules
Before you start
You’ll need:
A unique ID for each item (usually
id)An active order connection for the supported channel
Create Insights Dashboard
In your Channable account, create or open a project and go to Insights.
Click + Create Insights.
For Connect with, select the connection used for your order connection.
Fill in your Insights dashboard settings:
For Name, give your dashboard a descriptive name (like 'Insights - Amazon orders')
For Date range setting, choose between a Rolling date range or Fixed date range.
For Date range, choose the date range you want to pull data from (if fixed range) or the maximum number of days to pull data from (if rolling date range).
For Channel Unique ID, select the field containing your item IDs used to match your orders.
For Group on fields (optional), select fields you'd like to group and view data from. For example, by selecting a field like
sale, you can have your dashboard only reflect items on sale.
Click New Insights dashboard.
You can also group data by category, brand and fields from your imported items.
You can create multiple dashboards for a channel and set different date ranges and/or data combinations.
Reviewing data
Check in on your listing performance any time by clicking the Insights tab and selecting the dashboard.
Reviewing at product level
In [your Insights dashboard], go to View all items.
Select the product you want to examine.
A graph and data will appear providing more information about your product.
To change your Insights dashboard settings, go to Insights > [your order Insights dashboard] and click Settings.
