This article will help you send your products to Kaufland.de. Please make sure that you have EAN (GTIN) codes available for all of your products. Without these codes, you cannot list your products on Kaufland.de.
Kaufland.de makes a distinction between content and offer data. A separate upload is necessary for each data set.
- Content data: e.g. title, EAN, image, description etc.
- Offer data: e.g., price, delivery time etc.
In Channable, content data is sent via a feed, whereas offer data is sent directly with an API to Kaufland.de. Kaufland.de can only create offer data as soon as they have received EAN codes. Therefore, we recommend first sending the content data (using the Channable feed) followed by the offer data (using the Channable API).
1. Setting up the feed (content data)
1.1 Create a new feed for Kaufland.de
In Channable, click on the Feeds tab on the left-hand side of the tool. To add Kaufland.de as an export feed, click on the blue button labeled Add new feed. After you have selected Kaufland.de, you need to categorize your products and then optimize them using rules.
1.2 Finalize and Preview
After you have set up relevant rules, you can match the internal Channable fields with the fields that are required by Kaufland.de. For example, the Kaufland.de field Title should be mapped with the internal Channable field which contains the title of your product, for example title. When you hover over the question mark icon, you can see the specifications that Kaufland.de has set for a field. As soon as you are done, click on save.
Navigate to Preview and then click on the tab Health Check, here you can check if there are any errors left. Any errors can be solved by creating or changing rules.
1.3 Activate the feed
To activate the feed, first ensure that the project is live by clicking on the Settings tab on the left-hand side of the tool and then on activate project. You can then go back to the Feeds tab >Settings > Activate Feed. Once it’s been activated, if you click on the tab Preview, you can find the URL, which you need to upload to Kaufland.de
1.4 Upload the feed URL to Kaufland.de
You can use the following link to upload the feed URL to Kaufland.de:
https://www.kaufland.de/seller/automatic-product-data-file-upload/
Please first click on Zum neuen Händlerbereich > Meine Angebote > Produktdaten:
Once here, select Automatischer Produktdatenupload and you can paste the feed URL that you received in the Preview step of Channable, in the field URL festlegen. You can choose, when your products will be uploaded (Abrufzeitpunkt auswählen). Please note, that the upload of the feed should take place before the upload of the offer data (via the API in Channable).
2. Setting up the API (offer data)
2.1 Generating a client key and a secret key
To generate your personal access keys for the Kaufland.de API, log into your Kaufland.de account and click on Shopeinstellungen > API auswählen. Then select Channable to generate your client and secret key.
Please copy these keys and have them ready. You will need them later in order to connect your Kaufland.de account with Channable.
2.2 Add the Kaufland.de API in Channable
To set up a new connection via API, click on the APIs tab on the left-hand side menu and then on Add new API. After you have chosen Kaufland.de and clicked on Continue, you can fill in the Client Key and Secret Key, which you copied from your Kaufland.de account in the above step. Then click on Create.
Now you can start to set up rules and match the internal Channable fields with the fields that are required by Kaufland.de.
2.3 Activate the API
Now you are ready to send your offer data to Kaufland.de. To do so, click on the Settings tab on the left-hand side of the tool, followed by Activate project. Additionally, go back to the API and click on Settings, Activate API. Finally, click on Run Now in order to push your offer data to Kaufland.de.
2.4 Preview
After you have pushed your offer data to Kaufland.de, you can see everything in the Preview. The Tab Errors shows product listings with errors that cannot be accepted by Kaufland.de. You can correct the errors by using relevant rules or by contacting the support center of Kaufland.de or Channable (depending on the error).
Common errors for the Kaufland API
Since the Kaufland API only sends offer data, we don't show detailed error reports in the preview. The two different types of error we show are Unknown EAN and Unknown Error.
Unknown EAN
The Unknown EAN error displays all errors we retrieve from the "Eans-not-found" report from Kaufland. It is important to note that not all errors actually refer to unknown EANs, which is why you should always check the "Errors" column within the error itself.
For example, the error column might show the error message not_enough_data.
You can then look for a more detailed explanation in your Kaufland Seller Account, when navigating to Meine Angebote > Produktdaten > Produktdaten-Feedback and search for the respective EAN code, as shown in the screenshot below.
In this example, the product is missing an attribute, namely "KFZ-Leuchtmittel-Typ".
Unknown Error
The Unknown error is created by Channable when the product is not online on Kaufland, but also not included in the "Eans-not-found" report. Therefore, there will be no message in the "Errors" column.
In this case, you can navigate to Meine Angebote> Produktdaten > Produktdaten-Reporte in your Kaufland Seller Account and download the Produktdatendatei-Import-Fehler-Report for more information.
