This guide walks you through sending a Channable test order to your webshop platform, customizing it to fit your specific needs, and ensuring your setup is ready to handle real customer orders efficiently.
There are a couple of things you need to know before you start:
- The Product ID must be the Unique ID per item assigned to your item in your webshop.
- Make sure that your item(s) have a quantity/stock of at least 4 because test orders randomly choose a quantity between 1 and 4 for the selected item(s). Otherwise, the test order will result in an error.
- It's essential to select one of the products that's already imported into Channable. This product will serve as the placeholder for the test order
- Unfortunately, it's not possible to test the shipping method because it's not a real order.
Step 1: Navigating to the test order page
To create a test order, you have to navigate to Setup > Orders in your project. Here, you'll find your order connection(s). Then click on Settings to select the order connection for which you want to send a test order.
Click on the settings menu (cog wheel) in the top right of the screen. The Send test order option can be found there.
Step 2: Creating the test order
In Channable, creating a test order offers multiple options to customize the process to your needs, we'll outline the various options available for creating a test order below.
Standard test order
A standard test order contains just the two fields Product ID and Country, simply filling in these fields is enough to create a test order. When you choose this option, Channable will use randomized information, so product information such as prices will not be what you find in your webshop.
Customized test order
Channable offers flexibility in creating test orders, so that they can be tailored to various testing scenarios and requirements.
The test order can be customized by clicking on the tabs: Customer, Price, Billing address, Shipping address, and Products and changing the values there. You'll notice that some of the fields will be pre-filled with some default values, but you can fill out any extra fields, or change the default values to fit the desired test scenario.
Step 3: Sending the test order
Once you're done filling in all the fields, you can send the test order. Once the test order is successful, you will be able to see the order in your webshop and Channable - make sure to not process the test order!
If after sending a test order you receive an error message you do not understand, or you are unable to send a test order, please contact our technical support department.
