Image extensions allow you to upload rich, relevant visuals to complement your existing Text Ads. These images drive the performance with compelling visuals and can be added on Ad group level through Channable, for both Responsive Search Ads and Dynamic Search Ads.
Format requirements
The image(s) you plan to add as an image extension should follow the requirements seen below.

Create Google Text Ads image extensions
Navigate to Text Ads > Ad groups > Build > Image extensions and follow the steps below to add image extensions to your Google Text Ads.
Important: Make sure your image URL's are imported as an 'Image' field. You can check or adjust this by navigating to Setup > Project fields > Your image project field > Edit.
1. Enable image extensions
Click Use image extensions to enable the option to add image extensions to the selected ad group.
2. Add images
Add your images by selecting either a dynamic field or adding a static value in the form of a URL. Note that there should be at least one 'Square image'.
Image extensions can also be copied from other Ad Generators by clicking Copy image extensions and following the given steps. A maximum of 20 image extensions can be added per ad group.
3. Preview the results
After running the generator, you're able to preview the results by navigating to Preview > Image extensions.
Image extensions in the Google interface
When it comes to adding image extensions, Channable is in charge of uploading and creating the image extensions on Google. This means it's not possible to create them manually through Google’s interface.
