You’ll need

  • Your account connected to Google Merchant Center

  • A supplemental source set up

  • An active product feed

  • At least one product approved in merchant center

Good to know

  • The Title Optimizer works via a supplemental source. Your original product data (your primary source) will stay the same.

Step 1: Open the Optimizer

  1. In Channable, go to CSS.

  2. Select the merchant you want to set up titles for.

  3. In the Products tab, you’ll see a table listing all your products. Next to your product titles, you will see a colored status icon indicating the effectiveness of your current titles.

    • Green: Great

    • Orange: Average

    • Red: Poor

  1. Select an item from the list. This will open the Title Optimizer pop-up, displaying your product title, suggested keywords and attributes, and remaining character count (up to 150 characters)

  2. Adjust your titles:

  3. Click a suggestion to apply it to your titles.

  4. Manually type and edit your titles

  5. Combine brand, attributes and variant information

Step 3: Review and save

  1. View the preview listing next to the Title Optimizer and adjust where needed.

  2. Once you’re satisfied with the title, click Save title.

Channable will sync the optimized title to Google Merchant Center via your supplemental feed. Once your supplemental source is set up in Channable, Google will use the new title in your Shopping ads.

Step 4: Monitor results

Once your titles are live:

  • Allow Google time to process updates

  • Monitor your impressions, clicks and conversions in your CSS Dashboard

  • Revisit titles periodically to keep them up to date with search demand
