How to set up the Title Optimizer
The Title Optimizer suggests keywords, attributes, and length to help optimize your Google Shopping listings to better perform in customer searches.
This article explains how to set up the Title Optimizer in your Channable account.
Before you start
You’ll need
Your account connected to Google Merchant Center
A supplemental source set up
An active product feed
At least one product approved in merchant center
Good to know
The Title Optimizer works via a supplemental source. Your original product data (your primary source) will stay the same.
Step 1: Open the Optimizer
In Channable, go to CSS.
Select the merchant you want to set up titles for.
In the Products tab, you’ll see a table listing all your products. Next to your product titles, you will see a colored status icon indicating the effectiveness of your current titles.
Green: Great
Orange: Average
Red: Poor
Tip: Start with your Heroes and Sidekicks products marked poor or average first, prioritizing items with higher clicks and conversions for bigger impact.
Step 2: Optimize your titles
Select an item from the list. This will open the Title Optimizer pop-up, displaying your product title, suggested keywords and attributes, and remaining character count (up to 150 characters)
Adjust your titles:
Click a suggestion to apply it to your titles.
Manually type and edit your titles
Combine brand, attributes and variant information
Tip: Put the most important keywords first, include attributes like color, size, etc, and avoid keyword stuffing for best results.
Step 3: Review and save
View the preview listing next to the Title Optimizer and adjust where needed.
Once you’re satisfied with the title, click Save title.
Channable will sync the optimized title to Google Merchant Center via your supplemental feed. Once your supplemental source is set up in Channable, Google will use the new title in your Shopping ads.
Step 4: Monitor results
Once your titles are live:
Allow Google time to process updates
Monitor your impressions, clicks and conversions in your CSS Dashboard
Revisit titles periodically to keep them up to date with search demand
