# Rule condition: Length exceeds/doesn't exceed

### Use cases

* Check the number of characters in id and title fields to meet channel requirements

Use the **length exceeds** condition to check if the number of characters exceeds (is more than) the specified value.

Use the **length doesn't exceed** condition to check if the number of characters doesn't exceed (is not more than) the specified value.

Each character in a field is counted, including whitespaces, numbers, or letters.
