file-imageAdd additional images to your feed with a spreadsheet import

This article helps you add additional images to your feed to use for the image editor. You can add extra images such as logos for your different brands, or use images to create special background designs for your product images.

It is also possible to add static images such as a logo directly in the image editor. Learn more here: Upload static images.

Adding new images to your projects

If you want to use images in your image templates that are not in your product feed, you can add these using the Combine importsarrow-up-right feature.

Adding an image by pasting the image URL in a project field using a regular "set to value" rule is also a working solution.

To do this, you need 2 things:

  1. The images must be accessible via a URL and be one of: PNG, WebP, JPG, or JPEG.

  2. Create a Google spreadsheet that contains the image URLs you want to add and publish this spreadsheet. Read more about this in this articlearrow-up-right.

Below are two examples showing this method: adding brand logos and adding background designs.

You can also upload static images directly into the tool. If you prefer to add images via an import, the method below shows how to use images that are not in your main feed in the image editor.

Example 1: Adding Logos

1

Prepare logo files and spreadsheet

Make sure your logo images are reachable via URL.

Create a Google spreadsheet containing:

  • 2 columns: one for the brand name, and one for the logo image URL. These will become project fields in Channable.

  • A row for each brand name and logo URL combination.

Publish the spreadsheet online and copy the URL.

2

Combine imports in Channable

  1. Go to ‘Setup import’ in Channable and click on ‘Combine imports’.

  2. Select ‘Google spreadsheet’, insert the URL of your spreadsheet, and click ‘save’.

  3. In the import mapping section you will see the brand name and logo URL project fields.

    • Ensure the brand name field matches the name of the brand field in your main product feed.

    • Change the field type of the logo field to ‘Image’ so you can use it in the image editor. (Example screenshot shows editing the field type.)

3

Combine and map on brand

  1. Select ‘combine on field’ and choose ‘brand’ as the field to combine on.

  2. Click ‘Save & import’. Your spreadsheet will be combined with your main product feeds and your logo URLs will be added to products with the corresponding brand.

(Example screenshot shows the combined field mapping.)

Example 2: Adding a background design

1

Prepare design files and spreadsheet

Make sure your design images are reachable via URL.

Create a Google spreadsheet containing:

  • A column for each design you want to add.

  • One row with the design image URLs.

Combine imports in Channable

  1. Go to ‘Setup import’ in Channable and click on ‘Combine imports’.

  2. Select ‘Google spreadsheet’, insert the URL of your spreadsheet, and click ‘save’.

  3. In the import mapping section you will see the design image URL fields — change each field type to ‘Image’ so you can use them in the image editor.

3

Make designs available for all items

  1. Select ‘Item enrichment’. This will ensure your design images are added to all items in your product feed.

  2. Click ‘Save & import’. Your spreadsheet will be combined with your main product feeds and the designs will be added to all items.

  3. You can now select these designs in the image editor.
