How to set up a Kaufland channel (API) (V2)
Kaufland is an online marketplace based in Germany, with online storefronts available in Czechia, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, France, and Italy.
In this article, you’ll learn how to set up a Kaufland V2 channel to list your products on Kaufland. We’ll walk you through how to connect your Kaufland seller account to Channable, set up your listings, and resolve errors.
Before you start
You'll need
Product data imported in the local language of the region you want to sell in (e.g. Polish product data to sell in Poland).
Good to know
Visit Kaufland’s Seller University for Kaufland-specific information.
To sell on Kaufland in multiple countries, you need to create a new channel for each country.
You’ll need to enable each country in your Kaufland Seller account before activating your channel.
Step 1: Create your Kaufland channel
Tip: For more information, hover over the tooltip.
In Channable, go to Projects > [Your project] > Channels.
Click + Create Channel, select Kaufland.
Set up your channel settings:
For Name, choose a name for your channel.
For Unique ID per item, select the field containing your product IDs. (This is often ‘id’).
For Kaufland country, select the country to advertise your listings. Important: You’ll need to create a channel for each country you want to sell in.
For Listing requirement level:
If you only want to add your offer information to existing product listings on Kaufland, select Offer only.
If you want to add product information to existing offers on Kaufland, select Product only.
If you want to send offer and product information, select Product & offer.
For Use master rule group (optional), add a master rule group or leave this empty.
Click Save.
Important: Once you save your settings, you won’t be able to change the region (Kaufland country) or listing requirement level.
Step 2: Categorize your products
In [your Kaufland channel], go to the Categories step.
Map (assign) categories for all items.
Note: You can generate categories based on a category field or create categories from scratch.
Step 3: Create rules
When your product data is incomplete or doesn’t match the format that Kaufland requires, you can use rules to make improvements.
Create rules to optimize your products and meet Kaufland’s listing requirements.
Tip: Use rule templates to quickly set up rules.
Step 4: Map shared attributes
Tip: Hover over for more information about the attribute, accepted values, and an example.
Go to the Build step.
In the Shared attributes tab, click on each dropdown to map a field from your import to the corresponding attribute:
EAN: Field containing your product’s EAN codes
Stock: Field containing stock quantities
Title: Field containing title text
Description: Field containing your item description
Mpn: Field containing your model information or manufacturer number
Condition: Select the product condition from Static values
Comment (optional): Field containing any comments shared on a particular product
Price: Field containing pricing information
Minimum price: Field containing the minimum price allowed for automatic price adjusting (Kaufland’s Smart pricing)
Images: Click + Add and map the field containing your images
VAT: Select Static values and choose your VAT rate
Shipping group ID: Manually write your shipping group ID
Warehouse ID: The ID of the warehouse your products are located in
Handling time: The time in days from order to handing over the product to the carrier for delivery
Map any remaining attributes marked as required by marketplace.
Click Save.
Step 5: Map category attributes
Go to the Attributes per category tab.
Select a category from the list.
To comply with the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) for Kaufland, you need to provide information about your EU Responsible Person. Scroll down to the Kontakt für Produktsicherheit (Product Safety Contact) section.
Next to Herstellername / Verantwortliche Person für die EU (Manufacturer name / Responsible person for the EU), click + Add.
Fill in the required information for your manufacturer or EU Responsible Person:
Name: Enter the name of the manufacturer or the EU Responsible Person.
Adresse: Enter their full address.
Email-Adresse: Enter their email address.
URL: Provide the URL of their contact page.
Telefonnummer: Provide their contact phone number.
Map any remaining attributes that are marked as required by Kaufland.
Click Save.
Repeat these steps for each category.
How to map manufacturer information
If you have one manufacturer for all your products: In the dropdown, select Manual and fill in the information directly.
If you have different manufacturers for products in this category: You will need to create a new field to dynamically provide the manufacturer information using rules.
Tip: Click Auto-map fields to automatically map categories with information previously provided in the same channel. Learn more.
Step 6: Note your client and secret key
Log in to your Kaufland seller account.
Go to Settings > Shop Settings and click API.
Select Channable. Kaufland will generate a Client Key and Secret Key. Note these down, as you will need them in the next step to connect your channel to Kaufland.
Note: If you forget your Client key and/or Secret key, you’ll need to re-generate new credentials in your Kaufland Seller portal by clicking Generate new API keys.
Step 7: Connect to Kaufland
Return to the Settings step.
At Linked seller account, click Select seller account.
Select an existing seller account, or click + Add new connection to add a new seller account:
If adding a new seller account:
For Label: Name your connection
For Client Key: Fill in your client key (collected in the previous step)
For Secret key: Fill in your secret key (collected in the previous step)
Click Connect with Kaufland.
We'll redirect you to Kaufland to log in with your credentials and accept permissions.
Step 8: Activate your channel
In the Settings step in [your Kaufland channel], click Activate API.
Click Save.
Click Run now to send your listings to Kaufland.
To see which product listings are now active on Kaufland, go to the Preview step.
Step 9: Review and fix listing errors
Go to the Result step and click the Feedback tab.
Note the issue causing the error, and fix it by mapping the appropriate field or adjusting your import fields with rules.
