To configure your campaign, navigate to Dynamic ads > [your ads channel] > Campaigns step, which will take you to the Campaigns configuration tab.

Set up ads settings

Campaign name

Create a new campaign

  • Assign a name to your campaign at Campaign name.

  • The name can be dynamic: you can use feed field values (for example, use the 'brand' field to create campaigns per brand).

Connect to an existing campaign

  • Fill in the exact name of the campaign in your Google Ads account.

  • You can only choose campaigns that were not created by Channable (i.e., campaigns manually created in Google Ads).

  • When pushing a generator to an existing campaign, Channable will add ad groups to the existing campaign unless an ad group pushed by Channable has the exact same name as a pre-existing (manually added) ad group — in that case Channable will overwrite that ad group.

Campaign type

At Campaign type, choose where you want your ads to appear: Google Search and/or the Google Display network.

Daily budget

The daily budget is the amount to be spent per day in your account's local currency for each campaign. Set this based on your goals and the average amount you're comfortable spending each day.

We recommend adjusting this value in your Google Ads account to your preference and using Channable's feature to set a minimum default.

Bidding strategy

Setting the bidding strategy in Channable is only possible when you create a new campaign. If you are using an existing campaign or have already sent the campaign to Google via Channable, you cannot send or modify the bidding strategy further.

Select a bidding strategy from the dropdown. Google runs an auction every time ad space is available and your bid participates in that auction. If you need help choosing, see this articlearrow-up-right.

Some strategies show an additional field to fill in after selection.

Types of bidding strategies in Channable

  • Conversions - Maximize Maximize conversions automatically sets bids to help get the most conversions for your campaign while spending your budget. It uses advanced machine learning and auction-time bidding. Learn morearrow-up-right

  • Conversions - Target CPA Target CPA sets bids to help get as many conversions as possible at or below the target CPA you set. It uses advanced machine learning and auction-time bidding. Learn morearrow-up-right

  • Conversions value - Maximize Maximize Conversion Value aims to maximize the total conversion value of your campaign within your budget. You define the value to maximize (e.g., sales revenue) when setting up conversion tracking. Learn morearrow-up-right

  • Clicks - Manual CPC Manual CPC lets you set a maximum price for clicks. When using a CPC-based strategy, the CPC value can be set in the Ad Group's build stage. Learn morearrow-up-right

AI Max

AI Max is an optional layer for Google Search campaigns that uses AI to find new customers and create more relevant ads. Toggle Optimize with AI Max to enable it.

We advise caution when experimenting with AI Max. Start with a small, controlled test (for example, a non-critical product category or a low-budget campaign) and monitor performance closely before scaling.

Targeting

Under the Targeting tab you can add targeting to your ads. Targeting set up in Channable is sent only once when an ad is created; if you change targeting later in Google Ads, Channable will not overwrite those changes.
