Labels for Google Text Ads
Google Ads supports Labels to organize your Campaigns, Ad groups, Ads, and keywords into groups. They are also often used for reporting and analyses. With Channable, you can link Labels to your Ads.
How to link labels to Text Ads
First, Label(s) needs to be created on account level. Before linking a Label to your Text Ads, you need to manually create a new Label in your Google Ads account. For more information regarding the creation of Labels, please read this Google Ads Help article.
If you do not create a Label in your Google Ads account prior to linking it, Channable will show a "Label does not exist" error in the "Preview".
Once you have created a Label, Channable is able to link this existing Label to your Text Ads. This is done in the Ad templates of your dynamic Ad groups generator.
This means you can link Labels for each Ad template with a static value or a dynamic field. The static value or the value in the dynamic field should exactly match the name of the Labels you have created in your Google Ads account.
For example: You have created a Label named “High Performance” in Google Ads. As per the screenshot above, you are using the dynamic field performance to link the Label. Therefore, the value in performance should be “High Performance”. However, you could also directly type "High Performance" as a static value.
How to unlink labels from Text Ads
If you wish to unlink Label(s) from your Text Ads, simply remove the Label fields or values from the Ad templates. It is also possible to set a rule to empty the dynamic field(s) used.
Furthermore, if a Label was already attached to an Ad and you linked this Label in Channable, this means that Channable will manage this Label for that Ad from then onwards. In other words, Channable will also be able to unlink this Label from an Ad if you unlink it in Channable.
Deactivating the Ad generator and/or Ad group generator won’t unlink the Labels from the Text Ads in Google.
What are the limits?
Channable will never update linked Labels
This means that renaming Labels is not supported directly in Channable. To rename a Label:
First rename the Label in your Google Ads account.
Then make sure the value for this linked Label in Channable matches the new name.
If the values do not match, you will see an error in "Preview" because Channable can't find the Label anymore.
