This article explains how to set up a Winkelstraat API step by step.
Step 1: Request the Winkelstraat.nl API credentials
For Winkelstraat you need a Client ID and a Secret key in order to make a valid API connection. To get these credentials, you need to request them by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you have received the credentials from Winkelstraat, you can create the API connection in Channable.
Step 2: Create a Winkelstraat.nl API connection in Channable
To create a new Winkelstraat connection, go to the project you are working in and navigate to the APIs tab. Click on “+Add new API” and then on “+Add a new connection”. You can now select Winkelstraat:
After selecting Winkelstraat, give the connection a label and fill in your Client ID and Secret key:
Finally, click on "Connect with Winkelstraat.nl" and the connection will be validated and created. You can now start with setting up your product listings.
Step 3: Create your product listings in Channable
Follow the four steps below to configure your product listings for Winkelstraat.nl.
In the Build step you can find our preset template for the product listings. All you have to do is to fill it out by clicking on the field itself and selecting the corresponding value. For instance, the field 'Name' should display the 'Title' of your product and so on.
Note: the Item Group ID field is mandatory to fill in. Usually, the field you can use here is called 'item_group_id' or 'parent_id'.
Next you need to fill in the attributes per category in the Attributes step. You need to at least fill in the mandatory attributes, these will show red when they are empty or filled in with an invalid value.
A more detailed explanation of what to do in the Attributes step can be found in our Attributes support article.
Note: At this moment the EAN field is not mandatory to get your items accepted by Winkelstraat, but it is highly recommended by them to still add them.
Note II: The images and description need to be added in the Attributes as well. Even though they do not show as red fields when they are empty, they are actually mandatory.
Step 4: Send your product listings to Winkelstraat.nl
Once you have finished configuring your product listings, you can start sending your listings to Winkelstraat.nl. If you have not activated the project yet, navigate to "Setup > Project settings" and activate the project. Then, go back to the APIs tab, go to the Settings of your Winkelstraat API and activate the API here. When you click on 'Run now' in the API overview your products will be sent to Winkelstraat.nl!
Note: For Winkelstraat it is not possible to eliminate products from your account, only to put them to stock=0, which inactivates the product on the platform. Therefore, if for any reason you want to eliminate your products from Winkelstraat, you just have to send the products again, but with stock 0.
Step 5: Check your products in the Result step
Once the API has finished running, you can check the results in the Result step of your Winkelstraat API. You will see how many items have been sent succesful, and whether any errors have returned. The items with an error have not been placed on Winkelstraat. Click on an error to see what the error message is and which products have that error.
You can try to solve the errors by further optimizing or changing the product data you send to Winkelstraat in the Categories, Rules, Build and Attributes. After optimizing, run the API again and check the results.
