Campaign generator name
A campaign generator name is a label for the campaign generator in our tool. A campaign generator name should be unique per Amazon Ads channel.
It should not be confused with the campaign names we send to Amazon, which need to be set up in the campaign name template during the build step.
Amazon Ads Targeting Types
Automatic
Amazon manages all the positive targets for automatic targeting campaigns.
The Amazon ads ecosystem will try to get the best targets for you. Because Amazon is handling the positive keywords for you, only the negative keywords can be set up in the generator. So you have control over which terms your ads should not be displayed for.
Manual
In campaigns with manual targeting, you have full control over managing your targets.
This type of targeting lets you decide not only the negative targets but also the positive targets. Instead of relying on Amazon to choose which keywords to be seen on, you can choose them yourself.
Manual campaigns have two targeting types: Keyword and Product targeting.
Keyword targeting
Keywords are targets that are matched against the search term that the final user makes use of in the search bar of Amazon. Positive targets are used to display your ads when the target is matched against the search term. Negative targets achieve the opposite, not displaying your ads when the target is matched against the search term.
More information on keyword targeting can be found here.
Product targeting
Whenever a user clicks on a product page, similar products are displayed on Amazon. The sponsored section is filled with products with similar keywords and products that target the original product. Target products are created using ASIN (Amazon Stock Identity Number). Similar to Keywords, you can add both Positive and Negative targets. Positive product targets will be used to display your ads, while negative product targets will avoid displaying your ad on a similar product.
More information on product targeting can be found here.

Below is a concise table that outlines the different options per campaign targeting type available within the campaign generator, separated by the campaign targeting type selected.

Status
A campaign generator can be either activated or deactivated.
When both the Amazon Ads channel and the campaign generator are active, the tool will make sure we create and enable all the ads of the campaign generator.
When deactivating a campaign generator, all campaigns managed by this channel will be paused on Amazon.
In this section of our article: Amazon Ads Frequently Asked Questions we display a table of every state of activation and deactivation.
