For your products to be displayed on the Channable CSS, we require an active Google Shopping connection to enable product data synchronization from your Google Merchant Center account.
Note: If the Google Shopping connection used to set up the CSS shop is no longer valid, it must be refreshed.
Some reasons why the connection must be refreshed:
- The connection has expired
- The permissions have been changed
- The Google account used to set up the connection was modified/removed
Your CSS shop will still benefit from discounts on Shopping ads, but new and changed products won’t be updated until the connection is refreshed.

- Step 1: Identify shops that require refreshing connections
- Step 2: Navigate to the connection
- Step 3: Refresh the connection and allow Channable access
- Step 4: Save the connection
Step 1: Identify shops that require refreshing connections
- Go to [Your Company] > CSS.
- Check the ‘Imported items’ column of your shops. If your shop’s connection requires a refresh, the text “Refresh needed” will display in this column.
Note: If your shops do not have "Refresh needed", you do not need to refresh any connections.
Step 2: Navigate to the connection
- In the overview at [Your Company] > CSS, click on Settings of the shop that displays “Refresh needed”.
Step 3: Refresh the connection and allow Channable access
- On the connection page, click Refresh connection to confirm the refresh.
- Follow the authorization flow, allowing Channable access to manage your product listings.
Important: Make sure you select the correct Google account to refresh the connection. If an account without the correct access to the merchant id is selected, the refresh will fail.
Step 4: Save the connection
- Lastly, you will be redirected back to Channable. Click Refresh connection to save the new connection.
If there are no errors, the connection has been refreshed successfully.
If there is an error when saving the connection, this means that the connection does not have access to the required Google Merchant Center account. The reasons for this could be:
- The incorrect Google account was used to refresh the connection
- The Google account used does not have access to the merchant id
If you encounter this error, try again and make sure the Google account selected has the correct access.
