As of April 24th, 2024, Meta announced that all businesses with a shop on Facebook or Instagram located in the US are required to offer checkout on Facebook and Instagram.
Channable supports pushing a catalog for Facebook Shops/Instagram/Facebook DPA to Meta Commerce Manager. However, we are still in the process of developing our order connection to Meta. In the meantime, we have a solution for our customers who meet the following requirements:
1. Customers who use Shopify as an import to Channable.
2. Customers who have set up Checkout on Facebook through Shopify.
You can follow the steps in this guide to ensure your Meta catalog is set up properly.
1. Connect your Shopify Catalog to Facebook Shops/Checkout on Facebook by following the instructions in this article.
2. After connecting your Shopify to Facebook Shops, go to the “Data Sources” option under the “Catalog” section in the bar on the left. Click on the Shopify connection.
3. Once the Shopify data source is open, go to the “Settings” tab. Click the “Edit” button located to the right of the “Manage Shopify Sync” section.
4. When this section opens, select the option “Only updating, price, availability, and quantity of existing items” click on “Save”. This will prevent Shopify from adding any items to your catalog. Instead, it will update the price, availability, and quantity of products that are being pushed via your Channable feed. See more here. This will ensure you still have control of the items being pushed to FB/IG via the rules in place within your account.
5. If you haven’t already added your feed from Channable, you may need to change some settings in order to add the feed. Navigate to the “Settings” section in the bar on the left, and then click on the “Catalogue” tab. Click “Edit” on the “Redirect to Shopify to add and edit items” setting, and disable both options.
6. Now you should be able to navigate back to the “Data Sources” section under “Catalog” and when you click “Add Items” you should be able to select “Data Feed”.
7. When crafting the feed in Channable, please make sure that the “ID” field in the feed matches the “ID” field that Channable is importing from Shopify. This is what allows Shopify to find and update the products in your Meta account. You can now follow the setup instructions as normal.
