1. This article only applies if you want to sell the same product using both French and Dutch content if you want to sell both Dutch and French products through the same Bol.com vendor account. If you have separate Bol.com vendor accounts for each country, you can create a separate API exporter according to this article.
2. The article assumes that you already have a Bol.com API for either Dutch or French Bol.com products. If that is not the case, set up an API according to this article.
Dutch and French product information in the same Bol.com account
As Bol.com sells in Belgium, they have two different versions of their website, one for Dutch-speaking customers and one for French-speaking customers. Therefore Bol.com allows you to create both French and Dutch content for the same product listing. The listing will share offer information (price, inventory, delivery promise) but the content will differ.
If you already have a Bol.com API for Dutch content and offers, you need to create an extra API to forward the French content for the products. Or vice versa, if you have already set up a Bol.com API for France content and offers, you need to create an extra API for the Dutch content.
Step 1: Add a new Bol.com API
Go to the API page in your project, and follow the steps below:
- Click on: '+ Add new API', select the Bol connection you already use for the existing Bol.com API.
- Name the new Bol content API.
- Choose the 'language' for the products you want to send via this API
- Ensure you select the 'content only' (only push content data to Bol.com) setting, when configuring the API to specifically push content data to Bol.
Tip! When you have multiple Bol.com connections in your Channable account for different seller accounts, you can easily find the right connection by clicking on the Bol.com connection in the API overview or in the connections overview, to see which Seller ID the connection belongs to.
Step 2: Create your product listings in Channable
Once you have created the Bol.com API you can set up your product data by following the steps of the API.
-
Categories
For your product data to be created your products need a category. Add categories to your products by using, the smart categories feature, the generate categories feature or create new categories from scratch.
-
Rules
Create different rules to optimize your product data. Take a look at our common rules support article for some examples.
-
Build
Here you can find our preset template for the product listings. All you have to do is to fill it out by clicking on the field itself and selecting what you would like to go in there. For this API setup, it is not necessary to fill in all fields as you are used to in the normal Bol.com API setup. You will see that a number of fields are greyed out, so you do not have to fill them in.
-
Attributes
Almost done! Next up is filling in the fields in the Attributes step. Select the category you want to optimize first. Fill in at least the red fields in the attribute builder. A more detailed explanation of what to do in the Attributes step can be found in our Attributes support article.
Step 3: Send your products to Bol.com
Almost there, your product listings are ready to be sent. If you have not activated your project go to Setup > Project settings on the left-hand side of the screen and click 'Activate project'. After, go back to the APIs overview and go to "Your Bol.com API Name" > Settings where you activate the API by selecting "Activate API". After you have completed this step navigate back to the APIs overview and select the blue "Run now" button to sent your product listings to Bol.com.
Step 4: Check your product listings for errors
After you have sent your product listings to Bol.com, go to the Results tab of your Bol.com API. Click filter on 'error'. Now you can see which product listings have errors and have not listed. Errors in Dutch content will be reflected on the exporter with Dutch content, errors in French content will be reflected on the exporter with French content, offer-related errors will be reflected on the API that pushes offers. Click on a specific error to see more information on what is causing the error. If you have solved some errors by changing the settings or product information, re-run the Bol.com API to see the new results.
