UI update: There is a new channel selection page and overview for Feeds and Marketplaces (previously called APIs)! Some visuals and instructions may not be up-to-date.

Certain Mirakl marketplaces provide the option to define sales channels, allowing you to customize your product listings by markets/regions (for example “France” or “Italy”). This feature is useful when you want to set different prices or apply other offer data for each channel.

Why use sales channels?

Sales channels let you tailor offers to different markets. Below is a general overview of what you can adjust:

  • Adjust pricing for local markets: Define unique prices for each sales channel. For instance, you may want to sell at a higher price in France than in Italy, depending on demand, competition, or other factors.

  • Control regional promotions: Manage discounts and special offers on a per-market basis, allowing for more targeted promotions, and control when a discount starts and ends.

  • Manage offer visibility: Enable or disable sales channels for specific items, ensuring that certain products are only visible in selected regions or marketplaces.

Using sales channels in Channable

Navigate to the sales channels tab in the Build step of the API. Here, you will see all the channels you’ve activated, along with their corresponding offer fields. For instance, you might see the option to set different prices for “Leroy Merlin France” or “Leroy Merlin Italy.”

If you do not use a channel-specific attribute, the default attribute set in the item tab will be used.

Setting channel-specific prices

One of the most common uses of sales channels is to define channel-specific pricing. This feature allows you to overwrite the default price (or discount price) for specific channels. For example:

  • If you’ve set an item price of €10 in the main item tab of the Build step, but you want to sell it for €15 in “France”, you can define this price directly in the sales channels tab.

The price you set for the sales channel will override the default item price.

How to remove channel-specific attributes

1

Remove the value manually

Manually remove the value (or dynamic field) from the relevant attribute in the sales channels tab.

2

Remove the value using a rule

Use a rule to make the dynamic field empty. The API will interpret this as a removal of the channel-specific attribute, and the item will revert to the default attribute value set in the item tab.

Managing channel-specific visibility for specified items

If available for the marketplace you're working with, you can enable or disable sales channels on a per-item basis. You'll find that option in the sales channels tab under the name “Enable channel for item”. This provides flexibility in controlling which products are visible in each sales channel.
