Setting up a Carrefour France API
Note: Through Channable you can create a connection with Carrefour Spain and France, not with other countries. For more information about setting up a Carrefour Spain API, see this Help Center article: Setting up a Carrefour Spain API
Add a new Carrefour France connection
The Carrefour France API uses the Mirakl platform, which means you will need a Mirakl account to start sending your product listings to Carrefour.
When you have a Mirakl Carrefour France account, go to “[Your company] settings menu > Connections > Add connection”. Click on “+ Add a new connection” and you will see a screen where you can select Carrefour France. Fill in the label for your connection, for example: Carrefour FR. Then click on "Connect with Carrefour". You will be redirected to the environment where you can log in with your Mirakl credentials. After logging in, you will be redirected back to Channable where the connection will be available.
Step 2: Create a new Carrefour France API in Channable
Go to the APIs overview in your project and click Add new API. Select the Carrefour France connection you just made and give your new API a name.
Select the field you want to use for Unique ID per item (we recommend the 'id' field) and the Country you want to sell. For Carrefour France, you can only choose 'France'. You can also add a master rule group here if you would like. Click on “Continue” to finish creating the new Carrefour French API.
Step 3: Create your product listings in Channable
Once you have created the Carrefour French API, set up your product data by following the steps of the API.
Categories
For your product listings to be created, your products need a category. Add categories to your products by using the generate categories feature or create new categories from scratch.
Rules
Create different rules to optimize your products listings.
Build - Attributes per category
Category attributes are attributes that apply to items from specific categories, like battery information for electronic items, or sizing information for clothing.
Start by mapping fields to attributes marked as required by the marketplace.
Check the remaining attributes and map fields to ones relevant for your business.
Click Save.
Tip: Hover over for more information on specific field requirements.
Note: Carrefour asks for the Shipping class of the products, depending on the weight. To add it, create a new field in the import mapping and use a rule to add the shipping class that corresponds to your products, depending on their weight. If a project field is chosen, only the following values are allowed: XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL.
Eco-contributions: France introduced legislation for eco-participation. If your company is operating in France, your company must add eco-contributions to your offers on the marketplace. See the list of available EPR categories: Setting up Mirakl Eco-contributions
Step 4: Send your product data to Carrefour
If you have not activated your project, go to the Settings panel on the left-hand side of the screen and click “activate project”. Then go back to the APIs overview and go to "Your Carrefour API Name > Settings", where you activate the API by selecting “Activate API”. After that, navigate back to the APIs overview and select the blue “Run now” button to send your product listings to Carrefour.
Note: Sellers can now send their new products via the Carrefour API for France, without having to send a manual CSV template to Carrefour. However, Carrefour always requires that any seller who wants to register new products sends a copy of their feed, in Excel format, for review, because Carrefour needs to check and validate all the new items that are going to be put on Carrefour.fr.
Step 5: Check your product listings for errors
After sending your product listings to Carrefour, go to the Preview tab of your Carrefour API. Click filter on 'error' to see which product listings have errors and are not created.
Note: In Carrefour, it is not possible to eliminate products from your account, only to set their stock to 0 (which inactivates the product on the platform). To remove products from Carrefour, send the products again with stock set to 0.
Best practices
Adding multiple attribute values: When adding multiple values in an attribute field for Mirakl Marketplaces, separate each value with a pipe symbol "|" to ensure proper detection and processing.
Seller's Product ID for Single/simple products: There are two attributes named 'SellerArticleId' and 'SellerProductId'. 'SellerProductId' refers to the Parent ID, while 'SellerArticleId' refers to the variant items. For single products, both attributes must be filled with the same value.
