How to set up a Marktplaats channel
Marktplaats is the largest online marketplace in the Netherlands where individuals and businesses can buy and sell services, or new and used items.
In this article, you’ll learn how to create an eBay channel to create, manage, and list on Marktplaats.

A Marktplaats pro account
Good to know
You might need to renew your Marktplaats connection after some time.
Step 1: Create your Marktplaats channel
In Channable, go to Channels.
Search for and select Marktplaats Pro.
Set up your channel settings:
Name: Provide a unique name for your channel. Used to identify it within Channable.
Unique ID per item: Select the field containing your product IDs (this is often ‘id’).
Use master rule group: Add a master rule group or leave this empty.
Click Save.
Step 2: Categorize your products
In [your Marktplaats channel], go to the Categories step.
Our AI will automatically start to categorize your products to corresponding categories on Marktplaats.
Map (assign) categories for all remaining uncategorized items.
Step 3: Create rules to enrich, filter, and refine your product data
When your product data is incomplete or doesn’t match the format that Marktplaats requires, you can use rules to tweak and optimize your product data to meet listing requirements.
In [your Marktplaats channel], go to the Rules step.
Click Create rule.
Use rule templates or create a custom rule based on what you would like to adjust.
Click Save.

Step 4: Map shared attributes
In [your Marktplaats channel], go to the Build step.
Map any attributes marked as Required by marketplace.
Important: For Description and Description footer, Marktplaats only accepts the following HTML tags:
Go over and map any remaining attributes that are relevant for your business.
Click Save.
Tip: Click Auto-map fields to automatically map using information using information from your other channels or other similar setups. Learn more.
Important: the CPC and Budget settings are per ad. For more information on the CPC and Budget settings on Marktplaats, see this page (in Dutch).
Step 5: Map category attributes
In the Build step, click on the Attributes per category tab.
Select a category.
Map any attributes marked as Required by marketplace.
Go over and map any remaining attributes that are relevant for your business.
Click Save.
Repeat this process for your remaining categories.
Step 6: Connect to Marktplaats
To send your listings to Marktplaats, you need to connect your channel to your Marktplaats pro seller account.
Important: Nothing will change in your Marktplaats account - any existing listings stay exactly the same until you activate.
Log in to Marktplaats with your Marktplaats Pro account.
Back in Channable, open [your Marktplaats channel] and go to the Settings step.
At Linked seller account, click Select seller account.
Select an existing seller account, or click + Add new connection to add a new seller account.
If adding a new seller account:
For Label: Name your seller account connection.
Click Connect with Marktplaats.
We'll redirect you to Marktplaats to log in with your credentials and accept permissions.
Step 7: Activate your channel
Go to the Settings step of [your Marktplaats channel].
Choose how you want to activate your channel:
To send your listings to Marktplaats without publishing them, click Active - send products paused.
To send and publish your listings to Marktplaats, click Activate API.
Click Save.
Click Run now to send your product listings to Marktplaats.
To see which product listings are now active on Marktplaats , go to the Preview step.
Important: If you chose to send your listings without publishing them (Active - send products paused), once you're ready to publish your listings, click Deactivate API to enable Activate API.
Step 8: Review and fix listing errors
Go to the Result step and click on the Errors tab. This page displays all possible processing errors your product data has at a given moment.
Resolving errors:
In Description, click on the error name. This takes you to an overview of the products with that error.
In ID, click the ID number and scroll. You should see a red highlighted callout in the section where the error occurred. You can hover over the callout for more information.
If the error is a mapping error, click View in build to be directed to the attribute you need to map/re-map. The offending attribute is highlighted in blue. For more information about the attribute and its accepted values, hover over the ? icon.
Resolve the error.
